    Default Your Personal Dream Arcade...

Ok, now I don't have any arcade cabinets, and I probably won't for a long time, but sometimes it is nice to dream. Here would be my dream setup, what would yours be?

Space Harrier Stand-Up (Sit down with motion would be nice but let's not push it)

    Out-Run or Out-Run Turbo Stand-Up (Ditto)

    720° (Personal Favorite)

Some type of cocktail game (not really sure what is available but maybe Ms. Pacman)

Tapper (Budweiser Version would be nice...Suntory Conversion even better)

2 Linked Japanese SEGA Cabinets (For Throwing Fighting Games or Beat-Em Up Boards into)

    Professional Poker Table

Lastly, an Automatic Mahjong Table. Uses real tiles and magnetic chips, and the table electronically shuffles/deals/keeps score)

Wow, that would be the ultimate game room to me. Have a little kitchen/TV in there and it would be heaven hanging out with the boys. If I ever strike gold, I am going to do something as close to this as possible. Like I said at the beginning, sometimes it's good to dream

Hmm..there are probably some I will be leaving out here, and might edit with later but for now...

Mocap Boxing - everyone needs a workout, lol
Police 911 (1 and 2) - awesome mocap shooting action
one of the Time Crisis games - too awesome to leave out
a couple MVS cabs - i have one, but more is always good
X-Men - 6 Player version, so I can play it by myself in peace, lol.
Police Trainer 1 + 2- I do love me some shooting games.
JAMBO SAFARI(sitdown) - one of the most fun games ever
Brave Firefighers - OMGZ put out the fires with hose controller? sweeetness
a couple misc. Pinball games- just because they are awesome

and I would definately need some Motorcycle racing games too. Now to sell off everything i own and make it a reality!

Let's see...I already have an MVS, so I won't put that down:

Ms. Pacman / Galaga cocktail game (or possibly the Class of 1981 cabinet)
    Twilight Zone Pinball
    Marvel vs. Capcom 2
    Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition
    Terminator 2
Air Hockey (not a video game, but who cares?)
    Haunted Castle
Vs. Duck Hunt (so I can finally shoot the dog)
Possibly one of those machines with about 30 classic games

I'd thought of more, but realized they were all MVS games, so I have access to them anyways I know I'm missing some that I want.

    EDIT: Here's one:

    The Simpsons

I assume we're talking dedicated cabs, as I have a candy cab now w/boards I swap out. Let's see:

Sega Daytona 4-player (assuming space is no object)
    Ms. Pac-Man cocktail
    NBA Jam TE
    Simpsons Pinball
    Punch Out!
    Star Wars (original vector game)

I'd probably add a couple more classics like a Frogger and maybe Asteroids.

I love Simpsons Arcade, TMNT, Alien vs. Predator, but those are games I can settle without a dedicated cab.

I am in the process of assembling my dream arcade which will consist mainly of Sega drivers.

    The essentials
Outrun sitdown deluxe-Sega's first truly brilliant racer. Mine is midway through restoration.
Virtua Racing- Low on flash, but plays great. This laid the groundwork for Sega's domination in 3-D racers. Mine is awaiting a new monitor and mild resto
Daytona Usa- The king of all racing games, no qualification needed. This is my grail. I looked for a long time for a good one. Just needs side art and a good cleaning.

    The supporting cast
Super GT- Highly underrated, one of Sega's finest efforts. Great Model 3 graphics. Still too pricey for me.
Sega Rally Championship- This one missed out on making the essentials list by the slimmest of margins. I'm biding my time, looking for a good deal on a twin sitdown.
Outrun 2 SP- The sequel captures the spirit of the original without feeling too redundant. It will be many years before this one comes down far enough for me to be able to afford it.
Monaco GP- With a mechanical tach and led lap timers, this cab is the earliest example of Sega's use of bells and whistles to enhance the total experience. The predecessor to the super deluxe motion cabs we enjoy today.

Robotron 2084- The only non racing game that I feel is essential. Everyone should have this game.

My dream arcade would look like the opening shot on Starcade.

My real arcade only consists of Pac-Man, Vs. Super Mario Bros., and a cocktail Galaga.

Offroad (One with three wheels, NES doesn't cut it)
    A Super 29 w/ Neo-Geo
    1942
    Atomiswave cab
    Heck, the simpsons.
    Warzaid
    Police Trainer (either or)
The Starwars Arcade game (donno the real full whatever name)
And just give me a racing game with a seat and a wheel, I would really like one of those massive screens all around you ones.
    Biggest: Dual Seated Virtual-On cab.

My fantasy arcade would have three floors-

The first floor would be the classics floor, the games would include all the popular classics, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Pole Position, etc. etc...

The second floor would be the one for my personal nostalgia, with games from my most active arcade era-

    Street Fighter 2
    Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition
    Magic Sword
    Strider
    1943
Dungeons & Dragons Tower of Doom
    Final Fight
    Golden Axe
    Altered Beast
    Shinobi
    After Burner
    Outrun
    Crime Fighters
    TMNT
    Contra
    Mystic Warriors
    X-Men (Konami beat-em up)
    Double Dragon
    Double Dragon II
    Ninja Warriors
Neo Geo MVS4-25:with my favorite games
    Ikari Warriors
    POW
    Guerilla War
    Jackal
    Twin Cobra
    RAIDEN!
    Some early 90s pinball
A skiball setup. I loved skiball!

The third floor would have a bunch of recent stuff-
    SF3 TS,
    CvS2

    DoDonpachi
    Mushihimesama
    Ibara
    Under Defeat
A bunch of other Cave games
    A bunch of Psikyo games
Just a whole big mess of shmups.
    _____________________________________________

As for my actual arcade, I have a Neo Geo MVS2-25, a hefty six button MAME cabinet, a vertical monitor MAME cabinet for shooters, and a Sega Genesis cabinet which I'll talk about in the future sometime.

    T-Mek
    Starblade
    Time Soldiers
    Golden Axe
    Side Arms
    Ajax
    Rastan
    Legendary Wings
Galaga (just so my brother would have something to play)
    Cyber Sled
    Battlezone
    S.T.U.N. Runner
    Ms. Pac-Man
    Tempest
    Tron
    Discs of Tron
    Gyruss
    I Robot
    Splatterhouse
    Gauntlet II
    Area 51
    Heavy Barrel
    Burgertime
    Road Blasters
    Crossbow
    Star Wars: The Arcade Game
    Solar-Warrior
    Star Rider

There's a whole lot of pinball machines I remember playing over the years, but the names of them never stuck in my mind. Honestly, if they're fairly interesting and innovative, I wouldn't care which ones I had, as long as they're fun to play.

If I'm going to set up my own arcade, I'd like to get an air hockey table, and a nice crane machine. Y'know, the kind you play and -almost- pick up stuffed animals with a claw, but the claw always slips off your target at the end. I've been seeing a lot of Pac-Man plushes in these things lately, and one Aladdin's Castle I went to last week had Mario, Luigi, and Wario. I'd like to fill a crane machine with all these video game related plushies.

Wow you guys want a LOT, I thought I wanted a lot with

    1) Donkey Kong (got it!)
    2) Mame Standup (building it!)
    3) Mame Cocktail (planning it!)
    4) Some sitdown driving game and 2 of them for multi-play (ridge racer or maybe even a flying one like afterburner) (almost recently picked up star wars pod racer, but I don't love it and don't really have room atm)
    5) Virtua Cop 3 (realistically 2 and since I haven't even played 3 yet - btw someone mentioned the new time crisis w/big screen, great game, but too easy to beat in my opinion)
    6) Guns N Roses Pinball
    7) Pinbot Pinball
    8) South Park or Family Guy Pinball
    9) Skee-ball (you can find used ones that are cheap! I was really surprised, but incredibly hard to move)
    10) Tekken Tag (definitely not #10 since I'm talking to people to buy it now)
    11) Touchscreen Wall mounted Jukebox (planning it and have bought the parts like the screen)
    12) One of those bartop card/picture game things.
    13) air hockey, foosball, darts, pool table, bar, all that junk

Wow ok n/m I want a lot of really expensive stuff too, the list just keeps getting longer the more I think about it.

Hmm... my dream arcade... time to start penning it out for when I make my millions.

Oh, and some of these will be a part of the adjascent diner/pizzaria/eating area. I'll make it clear where.

-Alpine Racer 2 (always had a thing for that game...)
    -Asteroids
    -beatmania
-Bubbles (gotta try to up my Twin Galaxies score!)
-Capcom Vs. SNK: Millenium Fight 2000
    -Centipede
    -Cliffhanger
-Dance Dance Revolution (two different versions, back-to-back in the center of the arena)
-Deal Or No Deal (played one of these for the first time the other day, and DAMN is it addictive!)
    -Dig Dug
    -Donkey Kong
    -Eyes
-Galaga (one stand-up and one cocktail, the cocktail cab for the diner)
    -Hang-On
    -Mappy
    -Marvel Vs. Capcom
-Metal Slug 2 (just number two; special connection with it)
    -Mr. Driller 2
-Ms. Pac-Man (one stand-up, one for the eatery)
    -NBA Jam! Tournament Edition
    -Pac-Man (one stand-up, one eatery)
    -Robotron 2084
    -Smash TV
    -South Park Pinball
    -Street Fighter Alpha
    -Strikers 1945 II Plus
    -Twinbee
    -Virtua Fighter
    -Virtual On

There would be a few more pins floating around the area, but I can't think of any other necessities. So yeah.

I'm not picky. I'd be happy with just a sit down Star Wars game (the original vector one). That's all...nothing else...well, maybe a Ms Pac-Man cocktail but that's it.

and maybe Dragons Lair...and Space Ace...
