PSX Spindle

My PSX spindle (what the disks sit on in the PSX) is on its last leg. Is getting a replacement spindle a good option? I see them on Ebay and was wondering if I should go that route. If anyone has a better solution, or knows another place to pick one up I would love to hear it. Thanx.

If your Ps1 works well, and you like it, go ahead. You'll end up with a sturdy new spindle. Getting a busted deck that has a good spindle may be cheaper, but not easier, and not necessarily better.

Take care installing it. You don't want to do it twice, as pulling it off is very hard on it (it may break). Take a good look at the height of the existing spindle on the post. You'll want to match that as cloase (and as level) as humanly possible. Wobbly discs don't read so well.

Yeah, buy the replacement part. I tried getting a spindle off of a busted deck myself, and broke the spindle trying to get it off. Once the ebay spindle arrived, I was back in business with no problems.
