Default One of a kind? Chase the Chuck Wagon, w/ box, Instr. AND coupon used to get the game

I have a complete copy of Chase the Chuckwagon. Now, I know this game is not nearly as sought after as it once was, but it is a complete copy, whcih is pretty darned rare. It has the single instruction sheet with it too.

On top of this, I have the only copy with an original coupon used to send away for the game...the coupon that was in the dogfood bag back in the day.

So, what is a complete copy worth?

What's my copy with coupon worth?

I know it's a just a damned piece of paper, but that often doesn't mean a thing to collectors if it's OMGwtf r4re.

How may known people actually have complete copies of this game?

    Opinions?

this is a tough one. Atari collectors can be nuts when it comes to complete stuff. Is it in good condition? If it's nice, I'd say a minimum $600 and could break 1k.

Selling or just wondering? Either way, post about it at AtariAge and you'll get a much better idea.

Just wondering actually. I tend not to sell things I don't have dupes of, but it's good to know opinions. Yes, it is in extremely good condition. The coupon has a stain on it, but the box, cart and instructions are near mint. Iirc, the box has a crease in the front, but other than that, it's all new-looking and shiny silver. In fact, when I was sold it years ago, the seller said the instructions were not included. When I received it, I found the instructions in between the two layers of cardboard. I can see how they were so easily missed, since they are just one sheet.

I believe I got it for $210 or something like that. I saved the money order receipt I bought it with just to remember.

Well, you got a good deal...I've never seen one like that with the coupon, but then again I haven't been looking. Like I said, the heavy hitters at AA will definitely know what it's worth (even though you're not selling, I'm sure some would make you offers).

I've got a complete set as well. Not sure what it's worth as I never intended to sell it. Nice find.

well I've got a loose copy and I've seen that go between $35-$75 lately. I'm sure a full complete copy would go for much more than that, but if I were to guess, I couldn't say if it would go up to $500. I know that I would not be able to afford you're copy is all i gotta say.

Well, I've got the game between two pieces of cardboard and a bunch of bubble wrap and it's buried behind stacks of boxes right now, so I can't take a pic of it. However, I have a vague memory of scanning it at one time, so I'll check.

The only thing I worry about is people duplicating it because it's honestly really easy to do. I guess I could post a low res one.

you should try sending in the coupon and see if they'll give you another copy

Unfortunately, the unsold cartridges were destroyed by Ralston-Purina long ago.

I did a search on this and wasn't comming up with anything. Are you sure they were destroyed or is it possible someone is for some reason sitting on them?

I posted it in AtariAge if anyone's intertested.

In the link PingvinBlueJeans posted, it says Mike Schwartz was the programmer. Has anyone around here ever spoken to him?

What are you, high? High on prices maybe.

I would say it's a $250-$500 item with the coupon, depending on the condition of the box and cart. $500 would be if it was near mint in all respects. The coupon you could actually probably sell for $50-$100 alone, then the game would be worth a little less without it.

I believe it (esp if you say so). Although in some respects that just means that it's ready for a price drop. The $500+ CTCW complete market is limited. The loose cart market for those certainly imploded. Perhaps I'm just showing my oldness and crustyness.

Is the coupon the one filled out for the game received back, or a blank coupon from another bag of Ralston?

    It's a blank coupon.
