    Default broken Odyssey2 controllers

I recently found an Odyssey2. the system works fine but both controllers are trashed. fortunately it's one with detachable controllers and I was able to test it with the controllers from one of my other Odyssey2's.

I don't think they are reparable, they are really loose, one has up/down/right but no left. the other has up/down/left but no right. when i took them apart the part where the bottom of the stick rests is all cracked, one even has a hole in the bottom.

are any other stick compatable with the Odyssey2? has anyone had success repairing sticks that were really trashed?

    Default repair of O2 joysticks

I've worked with many O2 systems over the years, and I've always been able to repair any damage to the joysticks. Haven't done so in some time - so I don't have specifics (sorry). I do remember opening them up, and replacing the buttons, using nut/bols washers to hold the joystick in place - this fixes the loose feeling joysticks which have basically 'broke' free from wear and tear.

If you'd like, I could do some digging into my current machines to see exactly what I did years ago.... Damn short term memory...

When I had an O2 one of the controllers was trashed and what had happened was the flex circuit inside has a little piece that bends up and goes into a connector on the end of the wire. Well, the problem was one of the traces on that bit of flex had rusted and broke the connection.

My solution? I bought a dead O2 from someone on the board and switched out the controller.
