    Default Master System Power Question

Hey everyone, just a quick and simple verification question here.

Today I picked up a SMS, but the power adapter I got with it is labeled Genesis. Now, the adapter I got was the Model 1 Genny adapter with the model number 1602-1. Output is rated at 10V DC 1.2A.

Is this adapter compatible with the original model (long base) Master System?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, it'll work just fine. I use the same power supply with both my American and Japanese SMSes.

I've seen 1 or 2 (out of maybe 50-60). The 10V version is definitely not common, but functionally no different.

It seems Sega got their power adapters in the 80's and 90's from anyone that would supply them.

Now I'm curious. I'll have to dig out my AC adapter for my Model 1 Genesis and see what the DC rating is on it.
