    Default How do you remove old masking tape?

    I hate to admit it but I've ruined a few boxes/labels in my time just because I couldn't stand seeing the tape there!

    Really old masking tape seems to be the worst culprit. It is very brittle and even if you can remove some of it, it leaves a sticky mess behind!

    How do you folks go about removing the tape without ruining what it was covering.

    Oh, and just wanted to say I really like the restoration area and hope it stays!

    Soak it with Goo Gone for a while, then gently peel. Pray a bit too, it couldn't hurt.

    If it's taped to a paper label or something it's even dicier.

    Try looking in the hardware section of just about any stores (Meijer, Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc.) If the store sells a paint thinner (or mineral spiritz for the anals), they probably have Goo Gone somewhere.
    Another day, another dollar... wake me when it's payday.
