    Default Weird gameshark codes...

I used to use the gameshark for my playstation and recall coming across some bizarre codes...ex changing backgrounds and adding sephiroth to your team on ff7. I was just curious as to what other people may have run across when using game genies and game sharks in the past.
Looking to buy any Criterion movies that I don't already have.

final fantasy 7 8 and tactics all had secret debug rooms you could only access via game shark, very cool little bonus, the tacitcs one had all sorts of "extra" battles you could play with ,even an unused 2player version!

We used to do a ton of Game Genie codes with Street Fighter II for SNES. Air moves, tripped out color schemes and different levels of speed were favorites. I'm sure a lot of people did that with SFII.

When I used to work for GameShark, the hackers gave me one of the set-ups just to mess around. I couldn't figure out the hacking to save my life.

One day, I played Strider 1 PSX. I figured I'd try and hack a code for infinite health. After I first few searches, I unpaused the game, and activated the code.

    I pressed X to jump.

Strider lept, froze in place, the entire level screamed past him, the boss beat himself, the stage went black, and the PSX crashed.

I gave back the utilities and went back to reviewing games.

I remember one for Super Mario Bros. 3 that makes the backgrounds look like Willy Wonka's office (Half-sprites).

I'll sneak a couple PAR/GG rememberances into the Gameshark thread.

Pro Action Replay boss codes on SF2: World WArrior on SNES, watching Vega climb an invisible cage was rather interesting.

I also remember messing with Game Genie and Mario 3, and making a code that let you have Kuribo's shoe all the time. It was very glitchy though, the graphic tiles were wrong and if you tried to beat a level wearing it it would take 10 minutes for the level to complete.

    Good times.

How could we forget about that one of all the crazy ones.

I seem to recall certain games having levels that could only be unlocked via gamesharks. Does anybody else remember these?

For some reason I hated the gameshark, I bought one for the PS1 when they were new, not one of the cd based ones. It was one you plugged into the back of the console, it was a pain in the ass to activate codes, or add codes so I used it all but a hand full of times now it sits in the same chest I put it in a little more than a decade ago.

Yeah, I had a look into 007 hacking a while back. There's a few guys who have ripped the game apart using the codes. You can play nearly any level as multiplayer and define ammo/respawn points. And then there's the Citadel level you can view, but not play. Or you couldn't last I looked.

I remember reading a long time ago that it is possible to play as the boss characters in original SNES SF2. Apparently you needed both an Action Replay and a Game Genie, and you needed to input codes into both. Allegedly it was the only way to do it, but I've no idea if it's true or not. Anyone?

There where also some weird codes for Super Mario 64 (Mario running backwards, crawling up mountains, half-stuck in the ground, become Yoshi or a Goomba, change the color of Mario's clothes, etc.)
