Well you're gonna need a (preferably ceramic white) PS2 sat next to this bad boy if you want to be playing PS 1 or 2 games: no backwards compatibility.

white is great on certain systems and not on others. I like the PS2 black and I like the ps3 black.
What we really need are different colors all we ever get is black, white or silver.

The white version is not a new SKU if that is what you mean Its the same as the 40GB SKU (well.. that is new, but the white isnt a new SKU after the 40GB SKU). PS2 also had many colors, GBA and DS also has it. They werent desperate to sell their systems, but still new colors came
I think the white is look good. I am sure it will look "cleaner" too and be less maintanence to upkeep.
I really hate the black PlayStation 3 as it is dust magnet. The one thing with black, it is difficult to keep clean and shiny. It is like why I do not like to own a black car -- black car = no life.
