Default Dumb question time: Access memory manger on Sega CDX?

Yes, I have entered the world of Sega CDX love as of today.

I've only ever had a model 1 Sega CD and I'm a touch confused as to what I need to do to access the memory manager on the CDX system?

I don't have the manual and searched the few Sega CDX faqs I found but no luck. I'm probably missing something obvious aren't I? Well any help is appreciated!

if I recall correctly you press A or C on the main screen before it boots up without a disk in it

    I've tried:
Starting the system with no disc holding start (and other buttons)
Pressing start + any button at the main screen with no disc in
Pressing all sorts of other combinations of buttons at the main screen with no disc in

On the model 1 I think you just press start at the Sega CD screen with no game inserted.. This is confusing as can be. :P

Okay I think I figured it out. Put a game disc IN and jam on face buttons (not start) and pray the game doesn't load before the system gives you a chance to go to the manager screen.

I'd like to thank myself for this information!

It's how you access the onboard memory on the Sega CD. It's where you can copy or delete your game saves.

Should be another way, think it was somewhere on the interface.

I usually put in an audio CD. When the CD player comes up, there is an options area I believe and you can access the memory there. I don't know of any way to just press a combo of buttons to make it come up, but if you can access the CD player, then there is an option there for accessing the memory manager.

The easiest way (I've got it down now :P) is just hold A at the Sega CD screen while a game disc is booting up and it goes to the audio CD interface before starting the game.

This was confusing for me because on a model 1 Sega CD you don't want a game disc in at all, or at least thats the way I always did it.
