Default GameCube games with the best graphics

Which GameCube games look the most impressive? Which games really show off what it can do? It'd be cool if we could narrow it down to the top twenty.

    I'll start the list:

    (in alphabetical order)
    Beach Spikers
    Burnout 2: Point of Impact
    F-Zero GX
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
    Mario Golf
    Metroid Prime
    Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
    Pikmin 2
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within
    Resident Evil (remake)
    Resident Evil 4
    Soulcalibur II
    SSX 3
    Star Fox Adventures
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike
    Super Mario Sunshine
    Viewtiful Joe
    Wave Race: Blue Storm

What other games should be on the list? Need for Speed Underground? Batman Begins? Baten Kaitos?

Metal Gear Solid had pretty good graphics and Killer 7 certainly wins for the most interesting.

Breaking Bad 3x02 - Caballo Sin Nombre

Yeah, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes looked good. I haven't played Killer 7, but the art direction looked appealing.

I've been reading some reviews and it seems like these games have great graphics, too:

    Beyond Good & Evil
    Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
    MVP Baseball 2005
    NBA Street V3
Paper Mario 2: The Thousand-Year Door

    Any thoughts?

Resident Evil Zero, at least I thought it had better graphics than the remake.

Spartan: Total Warrior had pretty nice graphics. One of only a few multiplatform games that actually took advantage of the Gamecube.

I also nominate Dragon's Lair 3D, although it's more of a style thing. But if Wind Waker can count, then so should this.

    And yeah, Killer 7.

I think Super Smash Bros. Melee has fantastic graphics (and progressive scan doesn't hurt)

I remember wanting to play Dragon's Lair 3D when it came out, but never got around to it. I haven't played Resident Evil 0 or Spartan: Total Warrior either. Are they fun?

EDIT: I just checked out IGN.com's review of Spartan: Total Warrior. It looks impressive...lots of characters on-screen fighting each other.

MGS Twin Snakes looks 100% real at certain parts. Star Fox Adventures is also one of the best looking games on the console. Strange how one of the first games is one of the best looking.

I LOVE the graphics in F-Zero GX
I think its amazing the amount of detail and number of racers running at the speeds it does without a hint of flicker or slowdown. Good stuff.

I can easily agree with Re 0, RE Remake, RE 4, Eternal Darkness and Paper Mario. I dont agree with MGS:TT. I think they were kinda...meh...and I know the GC could have easily done a better job that that....

i have to agree with this completely. i was pretty impressed with F-Zero GX. you need to play it in 480p to do it real justice.

Yeah, those are great! I included those in the first post. Factor 5 was doing things on the GameCube that most developers still aren't doing on the Wii, which makes no sense. What's wrong with most developers?

I also included F-Zero GX in the first post. The graphics really impressed me, even though I didn't get very far in the game.

Nascar 2005 looks pretty good. Not as nice as F-Zero but it look better than most of the other GC racers by a mile.

So it seems like Nascar 2005, F-Zero GX, Burnout 2: Point of Impact, and Need for Speed Underground are the most impressive looking racing games on GameCube. How about some other genres?

As much as I enjoyed Eternal Darkness, it's graphics weren't anything special. The cut scenes all look nice and the locations have nice detailed textures but some of the character models and enemies are very basic. At times, the games N64 origins do show. Check out some screens and you'll see what I mean.

As for racing games, Burnout 2 and F-Zero GX both deserve their place on the list. I always thought Need For Speed Most Wanted looked a lot better than NFS Underground...

I was very disappointed in Resident Evil Zero. Frankly, it wasn't very fun at all. It really has great graphics, though.

Spartan: Total Warrior is awesome. I was expecting it to suck, and didn't give it a chance when it first came out. I expected it to suck because it's an action game by a developer known only for strategy games, and it's a "new Sega" product. But I ended up giving it a go when I saw a Gamecube kiosk that still had Spartan in the demos, way after the game came out. I was impressed, so I bought the game. And it hooked me. It's kind of similar to, but better than, Ninety-Nine Nights. Although Spartan was very overlooked, it seems like those who have given it a chance, have enjoyed it.

Dragon's Lair 3D was a game that I personally liked a lot, but not everyone did. The controls are kind of iffy, but otherwise it's a very well-designed and fun game IMO.

Cool. I'll pick up a copy one of these days. I imagine it must be pretty cheap now.

I've never played the Baten Kaitos games. How are the graphics? The reviews are positive, but do they really show off what the GameCube can do?
