    Default Will a warped disk play in a ps2?

    I a God of War 2 disk that is alittle warped. The disk in perfect condition (minus the warp) and will not play in my PS2. Now I have tried it in my PS3 and it work fine. Now It isn't badly warped, but when you put it on a table it is noticable. Can the ps2 play warped disks? Is there a safe way to unwarp a disk?

    The disk was put in an un-airconditioned storage unit for 2 months in the summer. It's not my fault mind you, my wife stuck it in a random box.

    Thanks for the help.

    If it is only a slight warp maybe try setting the disc on a table and setting an extremely large book on it for a couple days. It might just be enough. or if you have a vice grip find something flat safe and sturdy to put on each side of the disc and tighten up the vice and leave it for a day or so.

    But if you have a ps3 that it plays on, why worry about it working on a ps2?

    Rent the game and return the warped disc, lol. Kidding, that's bad.

    I would say if you had some heat and a heavy item, like a book, as rustblackend said, it could help. Just be careful and make sure you don't do more damage than is already done.

    @ rustblackend
    well as a collector I would like it to work in all the systems that it is meant to work on.

    well I might try to book thing, it's just frustrating that it looks perfect, but wont play.

    <PSA>

    Be careful playing warped disks. You have to realize that when a disk is being read, it spins at some serious RPMs. If it gets off balance at all, the thing could shatter inside your disk drive.

    Find a device that gets warm when used(like a range or something), place the disc on it underneath a heavy book or object, and leave it there for a little while. That should help. Just keep an eye on it so you don't burn the house down.
    RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed.That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

    Iron it.

    Seriously though, it's polycarbonate so it'll probably take a good amount of heat before you're able to smash it back into shape.
