Default Question about Unpaid Item Strikes

I currently have 3 unpaid item reminders from the same person. I have tried to work it out with the seller, but he won't remove them. I wasn't going to worry about it when I just had the one, but he added the other 2 and I read that if you get 3 strikes you lose your account. Is that true? Even if they are from the same seller? If so, what can I do about it?

Here's the whole story: I bought 3 records from someone in Russia. His listings said he accepted Paypal, but to contact him for the address. I did, and when I got the address I sent the full payment for all 3 items. Turns out the address he sent me was for someone he owes money to for an auction he won (under a different account, I might add). Things didn't work out between the 2 sellers, and luckily I was able to get a refund. The Russian guy sends me another address to send payment to (same story) but I refused. Arguement ensues and now I have these unpaid item reminders, soon to be strikes.

I contacted eBay about it and they said I shouldn't pay the seller, and that I should report him. I did, but so far nothing has happened.

Yeah, in most cases, three strikes kills your account. There are exceptions where I've gotten brand new, international users suspended with one strike. I'm not sure if they give high-feedback users more leeway, but I doubt it.

Strikes from the same seller count as one, no matter how many it is. A friend of mine bought 20 or so individual hockey cards from a guy, the seller tried scamming him on shipping, my friend never paid, received 20 strikes, and his account was fine.

If so, what can I do about it?
If you do get the strikes, you should be able to appeal and get them removed, especially if you have proof that an ebay rep told you not to pay.

That's what I wanted to hear! If nothing's going to happen to me then I'm not even going to worry about it. I'll try to get them removed of course, but I don't feel like putting a huge effort into it. I don't think the seller was trying to scam me, I'd just hate to lose my account over this. Thanks!

Sure. If this seller wanted to scam you then unpaid strikes won't help him.

ohh and one more thing. Russian paypal accounts CAN NOT accept incoming payments. They are send only. If a russian seller says he accepts paypal better ask where his account is registered. Maybe it's not even his account.. lol
