I have a dead CV power supply. Yes, I'm sure it's the power supply and not something else. Specifically it's pin 1, the +5VDC that's dead.
How the hell do you get in this thing???
Can this be fixed?
You can get in to it with a DREMEL, or you can pry your way in a la chisel and hammer. Can you fix it? Maybe. I've never successfully fixed one, but if your single rail is totaly dead, maybe, if you are lucky, it's loose and needs to be resoldered. Usually, the transformer fails, and I have low voltage on all rails.
Good luck.

Or use a vise if you have one big enough. Put the brick in the vise and then squeeze it just a bit. The seam may crack a bit, allowing you to open it without cutting anything.

Another thing to think about since only one rail is bad: It could be a broken wire. This sometimes occurs when you store the PS with the cord wrapped around it. Before I'd take the dremel tool out to hack the case, stretch the cord out and clip a DMM lead to the 5V pin. Now start flexing the cable and see if you can isolate the fault.
