Unfortunately this is for Japan - one of the 'mystery consoles' mentioned is the MSX, which I can all but guarantee, we wont see outside Japan.

Sega Master System...hmm. I'd buy Phantasy Star for $5.00. That's about it.
"One of the ways I gauge a DS game is by recharges. "...Tycho (Penny Arcade)
they should put golden axe warrior ! on there even though i dont have a wii it is a great game and it deserves to be put on there,, :P
I will still and always just get the original SMS games. Sure I use the virtual console mostly for Turbo Graphx since I don't own one and imports. My girlfriend also downloaded Gain Ground and Beyond Oasis for Genesis. So please release something like MSX or C64 Nintendo! I do have a C64 but I need the cable for the disc drive.
I figured that a another sega system will be on the virtual game console. I thought it would be the sms or the Sega CD.
Turbo CD 11 games left to be released on the virtual game console for North America and Europe. I don't know if Hudson will release more tg-16 games after the turbo cd games run out. There are not that many tg-16 Hu-cards left for North America. My thinking is there would have to be a new virtual game console system on the Wii as a result. It is either that or a virtual game console system will have more games release a month like the Neo Geo, the N64 or the Snes.
I hope sega would put Euro sms games on the North America virtual game console. A good amount of Euro sms games are Game Gear games in North America. Sega could say that they technically released Game Gear games in North America like Sonic Chaos.
The sms wouldn't be much of an interest on the virtual game console if you are a sms collector that also owns Euro sms games.
I would be more interested in the Sega CD, the msx or C64 since I own the Sega Master System. The only sms game I might get on the vc is Power Strike 2.

Considering that Turbo CD games are housed under the TurboGrafx category, I have to assume that if Sega CD/32x games were to be released, they could just be housed under the Genesis category.
oh yeah, some sms loving, then again I could just play my sms...
zomg I have a sig
I can see SMS games being added to the Virtual Console in the US. Since most of the SMS offerings were first party titles, Sega has quite a bit of stuff that they can bring out of the vault.
They announced like a year ago that they would add Commodore 64 to the Virtual Console...

Says the man with over 30 XBLA arcade games. Yikes.
If the sms was added to the vc i download what was offer for it.
Long as it has these games though
Phantasy Star
Pyscho Fox
Zillon
The Alex the Kid:Serise of corse.
Chop Lifter
Just to name a few.
I love how everyone talks about how hard it would be to emulate the saturn. Bullshit! You don't think Sega could put together a perfect emulator that would run all the games like gold. You bet your ass they can and they will. And if the Wii can run gamecube games why not Dreamcast. I can dream can't I? Pop in a dreamcast and then its USB convertor time.
I don't know about Sega CD or 32 X because I dont' know if there are enough games for each system to have mass appeal. I'm surprised that they are even bothering with the Master System, especially in Japan where it failed horribly. In fact, Europe is basically the only place where I can see a lot of people downloading games that they played as a kid. Sure, some people will be curious but most games I download I either used to own or played a lot when I was younger.
I think the next system on the vc will be atari 2600. Look at all the compilations that still come out for current gen systems like namco museum. Nintendo is looking to make money not be as extremely diversified as possible.

Hmm, I dunno. It was absolutely huge in Asia, so if they released it there, I'm sure they would do so here. The demand must exist over there. I shit myself when the Neo and the TG16 was released for it. I wonder why the 2600 and such hasn't been released for it. I mean, if they are going for older crowds and all, it onbly seems natural.

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
I still would love to see GameBoy classics, like Metroid 2, Zelda Link's Awakening, Mario Land 2, etc.
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
They tried it a few years ago and (kind of) failed. In Japan they ran a service where you could download emulated Saturn games to your PC. Sega did it by buying out an emulator that was out there on the internet and had been around for years (but never managed to emulate Saturn games to a playable level) and re-writing the emu for each individual game. This resulted in widely varying system requirements for each Saturn game. I recall that Golden Axe: The Duel required a 1.6 GHz CPU, whereas Panzer Dragoon Zwei required a 2.4 GHz CPU.
To do Saturn on the Wii it would have to be a decidedly limited affair, and may not be worth the trouble. Every other system on the VC has been emulated 100% easily for years (N64 is a bit of a gray area, but that's Nintendo's own thing). Dreamcast would actually be more likely than Saturn.
Sega CD and/or 32x games would just be filed under Genesis, so they don't need to have a lot of games or anything. People would definitely download Sonic CD.I don't know about Sega CD or 32 X because I dont' know if there are enough games for each system to have mass appeal.
Master System is ridiculously easy to emulate and the file sizes are small. Sega's already participating in the Virtual Console, and they're just sitting on all their 8-bit games -- why not release them? Even if it's not terribly popular, it will do nothing but net them money. And Master System was more popular worldwide than consoles already on the VC anyway.I'm surprised that they are even bothering with the Master System, especially in Japan where it failed horribly.
How could Nintendo possibly lose money by adding another system to the Virtual Console? The cost involved has got to be pretty damn low. I don't see how any new VC system would plausibly not make money, unless it's difficult to implement (as may be the case with Saturn), or it's something ridiculous like Bally Astrocade or something.I think the next system on the vc will be atari 2600. Look at all the compilations that still come out for current gen systems like namco museum. Nintendo is looking to make money not be as extremely diversified as possible.

I still think Atari hasn't forgotten how Nintendo basically screwed them over, several times,in the 80's. And mark my words, I guarantee none of the Tengen games will ever be released on VC.
Phantasy Star, Golden Axe Warrior, Super Wonderboy in Monsterland, and Action Fighter FTW!
As for Sega CD / Saturn coming...don't hold your breath.
The Wii's pathetically small amount of storage memory would mean you'd
A: be unable to buy any game that uses more than half of a CD
B: have to delete everything on internal memory - including your save games, to download the bloody thing. (sonic CD with it's music compressed to an awful MP3 @96kbps sound still weighs in at 147mb. Add in the emulator and you're looking at least 150mb for that game alone)
C: have to spend around 50 bazillion points per game.
Nintendo really need to either patch the system so we can run stuff directly off SD cards, or they need to release a storage device before they can think about offering these bigger games.
No thankyou. I'd prefer to have them on systems that can cater for larger downloads - 360 and PS3. Hmmmm more Hi-Def dreamcast ports like Rez.....hmmmm Crazy Taxi HD yumyum.
