Default Can I plug my SFC in using a US SNES adapter?

and not have the thing go boom.

I'm not the worlds best electrician so all the wonderful technical spec checking didn't work too well once I realized I had no idea what I was reading really. So, figure I'd just ask here. Tried the search function but all I kept finding was the same question and no answers. Maybe I'm not using it right.

The connectors aren't the same so it won't fit. I have used a genesis1/megadrive ac adapter without a problem. Don't use an NES ac adapter, it will kill your system.

^ What are the specs on a real NES AC adapter? There's tons of 3-in 1 adapters on ebay that have two connectors, and the box reads NES/SNES/Genesis DC 9V 850mA, center negative.
