My rarest items would probably be:

    Sealed copy of spider-man 32x

Sega Source Binder given to stores with a bunch of sega promotional stuff to help educate employees and customers.

A Sega Saturn toys'r'us cabinet that lights up.

mine would have to be the aladdin deck enhancer, sealed, with an original box with camericas address on a shipping label, along with all 6 games.

Probably my RCA Studio II programming cart (as seen in the DP guide). It was only available through the Studio II newsletter so I doubt many were made much less sold. I think I may own the only surviving cart.

While searching through my junk box, I found...

Both Castlevania Limited Edition soundtracks, factory-sealed. These were available as pre-orders for both Lament of Innocents and Curse of Darkness, I believe...

Metal Gear Saga Vol. 1, factory-sealed.

A Namco press kit, from GDC '04. Included are a DVD with trailers, a lenticular card with characters from the 'Ghosthunter' game on it, and a whole assortment of 3' x 5' cards featuring various games from '04 and '05 and how Namco plans on marketing these games to the public.

Not sure how common all of this stuff is, but I figured that I'd mention it anyways

Just discovered that my Arkanoid for the TRS-80 is a 6. plus, its unopened (though the plastic is a little damaged). Its a good thing that Arkanoid is playable on everything, including the toaster, because other wise I might open and play it.

Metal Gear Solid 4. How many people here actually have the original case and manual as well? I don't know any others.

Hm... I don't have anything super rare..

It's probably either Twinkle Tale or the Sega Direct version of Jet Set Radio, sealed.

Never figured there was a reason to open it as I own the US version. From what I hear it's practically the same thing.

Since I haven't posted in this topic in nearly 4 years and it's been bumped up, I guess I'll do an update on my collection.

I still don't have anything mega-rare, but at least I have a couple R8s now:

    Chavez II (SNES - loose)
    Psychic Detective (PlayStation - complete)

Big whoop, I know. But looking at what I listed in the past, I have loads more R5s, R6s, and R7s, and I think I have some accessories that fall in that range as well. Also have plenty more games of considerable value.

My rarest items could be :

Motorodeo and Obelix cartridges for Atari 2600 .

Atariage rates them : Unbelievably Rare.

Rare stuff, eh? Well I don't have anything in my collection super-uber-OMG-rare, but I have a few hard-to-come-by items...

    Futurama for PS2
    Fatal Frame for PS2
Halloween for 2600 (my world record cart)
    Crazy Climber for 2600

I also have a few collectibles that have no rarity/value per se. For instance, my "Cels From Cartoons Based on Videogames" Gallery. I have cels from: Saturday Supercade (Frogger, Q*Bert, Donkey Kong Jr., and Space Ace); Sonic the Hedgehog; Dragon's Lair; Earthworm Jim; Bomberman Jetters; Where on Earth is Carmen San Diego; The Legend of Zelda; Captain N: The Gamemaster; Super Mario World; and Pac-Man.
    Still Around...Still Gamin'...

    Are your carts NTSC?

Also this was before a huge stash of Motorodeo carts were found. Motorodeo is no longer that rare

I think my Motorodeo is PAL.

I have 2 Obelix , one could be NTSC.

    About Obelix:

If there's any difference between the screen's position (the NTSC screen is positioned slightly higher) and color (lightblue, instead of violet title screen image), then you own the NTSC version.

sadly enough, I think the rarest game I own is Sesame Street Countdown for the NES.

oh, and Bucky O'Hare on the NES.

Taking a cue from Aussie2B and updating my rarest items.

Number one has to be the US version of The Dynastic Hero for the TurboGrafx.

I have several of the "rare" (i.e. desirable) PCE games, but the one of note is a complete copy of Kaze Kiri.

Complete, longbox copies of every Jaguar CD game that isn't homebrew (still want the homebrew Gorf Classic, but that's just a dream at this point).

Every Treasure game in one form or another inculding a complete Rakugaki Showtime for the PSX, all of the Jp versions of their MegaDrive games complete, complete JP versions of their 3 N64 games, the Brazilian SMS Dynamite Headdy, an actual European copy of Buster's Bad Dream, etc.

Every game for both the SegaScope 3-D glasses and the Famicom 3D Glasses, as well as the hardware of course.

Finally, I have both GG Aleste games for the Game Gear and both Power Strike games for the SMS.

I think the color you obtain depends on the console (NTSC or PAL or SECAM).
    Not really of the cartridge.
