Default Epic RPG's that take 60+ hours to get through and see everything?

I'm not talking about games like Chrono Trigger with multiple endings (although it CAN have multiple endings). I'm referring to long ass RPGs that take for freaking ever because there is so much stuff / side quests / etc. The only one that comes to my mind is Persona 3.

    Any others?

RPG's over 60 hours? Just about any PS2 RPG qualifies. I can't think of a RPG I've finished lately that wasn't over 60 hours, especially if you want to do everything.

Baldur's Gate 2 (PC) will easily take well over 100 hours if you decide to really have fun with the sidequests available in chapters 2 and 3. Despite its length, the game never really gets dull, the storytelling always stays strong, and if you have the Throne of Bhaal expansion installed, you can easily bypass the BG2 level cap while playing through the game. Good times.

Morrowind, Oblivion, both well over the 60 hr. mark, even without DLC or expansions.

Yep...most all the Black Isle RPG's are good if you want to play a game for a long time.

I haven't played Oblivion (my computer isn't good enough), but Morrowind... yeesh. With both expansions, doing every side quest and seeing everything is quite a chore. Then, you can add some fan plug-ins to give you a couple hundred more hours.

Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. One playthrough with the true demon ending was a good 90 hours.

Star Ocean on ps2 is a very long game with a great bonus dungeon.

...otherwise, no. I burned through Oblivion and Isles in 75 hours, doing all the major sidequests and many of the minor ones. Unless you just LOVE Oblivion, I can't see playing for much more than 100 hours being viable. I'd rate the game a 9, but I wasn't willing to keep going after I got 1250/1250 gamerscore and beat both main stories. Still, if you're looking for big, Oblivion has that in spades.

Otherwise, all the Final Fantasy games are good bets, as are Kingdom Hearts I & II. Main quests take about 40 - 45 hours, but the side quests...christ, some of those can take half as long as the main game.

I would add "Mass Effect" to the list. It has over 80 hours if you do all the side quests, and read the conversations instead of just skipping them.

Great game to boot as well.

Put ME down for good ol' Final Fantasy 7 on the PSX. My FIRST file was OVER 120 hours long without the party to 100 and without all sides done. You factor in all of the Weapon battles, that big amusement park and all of the little secret hidden elements, and you've got one big-ass game.

Disgaea, and likely disgaea 2 (haven't played it). It's a strategy rpg, but still in the rpg vein. I'm about 90 hours in and am prolly 7% of the way to where I want to be when I finish.

I was just about to post this one also.

A great game with an insanely rich story.

A lot of care and effort went into creating the fictional worlds and technologies found in this game.

If you do indeed allow yourself to get into the conversation and the codex,
and do the side quests, you'll easily surpass 60 hours.

if you can grab a translated rom or something of the very first Star Ocean for SNES, it can take a while just for the fact that you can spend so much time trying to level up your characters so you can add to thier item creation skills. It may not be as long as the ones mentioned so far, but depending on how much of the game you want to see and how jacked you want your party to be, it could very well go over 60 hours. great game too.

Really? I actually thought the first Star Ocean was too short, if anything. I finished it in less than 20 hours on my first playthrough with no help whatsoever.

for me personally, I have been trying to level up my characters for easier item creation and I think that takes some time to complete. You know you may be right about the game as a whole being short though, thats why I said it maybe isn't as long as the titles mentioned before. It depends I guess on how strong you want your characters to be.
