Well, I have it on DS. And I beat it along time ago, but I let my sister borrow it and it skips World 4 and 6....Does anyone know how to get those?? It did it to me aswell.

Your saying it was too short but that you also didn't visit 20% of the game?
The requirements to reach these worlds is plain stupid, it really was a let down to an otherwise
great game.

I thought it was fairly clever, and not really far-fetched considering what some of the other 2D Mario games had you do in order to find secret stuff. (The most direct comparison would be the secret messages in SMB3 when you finish an Airship while wearing a particular suit.)

What was wrong with the requirements? I thought all you had to do was beat a boss as mini Mario to reach them if I'm remembering right? If I did it, they can't be too crazy.
Plus, aren't there cannons to those worlds?
When you beat the Bowsers in question as regular Mario, it's pretty obvious that there's a separate path that only mini-Mario can take and that that must lead to the "hidden" levels. Seems like a good way of hiding them to me.
I guess my only complaint is that it's pretty hard to get the mini-Mario mushroom sometimes. I can't remember about those levels in particular, but I remember a few points in the game where I wanted to be mini-Mario to go down a small pipe or something and had to go back repeatedly to one of those random ? blocks until it gave me a mini-Mario mushroom or exit the level and restart if it didn't. I think there's only one or two blocks in the whole game that will always give you a mini-mushroom. That's pretty lame.
...word is bondage...
I agree with SFD on the mini mushroom thing. They should have just had a board like "Top Secret Area" in SMW where you could get whatever powerup you need.
True that. Without the flagpole trick for getting the random-powerup game, some bits would be quite problematic. That one pipe in World 8 in the level with the falling spiders is the biggie - having to work through that level over and over and having to go back to some other level to get a mini-Mushroom each time would get quite tiresome after a while. Still, it's hardly the darkest moment in Mario history.

Im not sure if this was a dig at me or not boatofcar, If so then wow, maybe you should IM
me so i can keep my response out of this thread.
As for it having to be easy, where the fuck did I say that? Did I state it was supposed to be for Kids? sheesh.
How about asking why I think that instead of flaming responses?, I suppose it requires some more thought.
Im starting to think the anti nintendo thing on DP might be true.
If you dont like my response IM me.

It would have been really cool had beating those levels with the mini mushroom revealed a warp, or given you some sort of cool item. It seems backwards that you got to skip two levels if you beat a boss in the easiest way.
Great game though, I loved the new SMB.
I also thought it was pretty easy to figure out where everything was. One of my favorite DS games.
IIRC, couldn't you just have a small mushroom item on hold and use it once you defeat the boss?. It has been awhile since I have played the game. I shelved it once I 100%-ed it. I could have swore I did this.
Either way, I never really had a problem beating any of the boses while mini. The flying Piranha Plant while on ice was a challenge.
