why not sell the manuals for a buck a piece, regardless of game or system, and non refundable? You aren't paying anything extra for them. Or, if you really wanted to, just make a box for them and write "FREE STUFF" on it. You will get rid of them fast.

There is an indie game store by me that used to do this. There was a big basket of manuals by the register and the owner let you grab any one manual you wanted for every game you bought. I must have gotten at least 50 NES manuals I needed by doing this. Got a few rare ones too including TMNT Tournament FIghters.

great way to have people ruin your stack of manuals sifting through the bin. I'd suggest a random manual grab bag something like 10 random manuals for $5 or something.
For lucky best wash, use Mr. Sparkle.

That's why you keep them by the register or someplace else in plain sight. And it's just a stack of manuals. It's not like people are going to rip the covers off or tear them to shreds.

With the grab bag idea, I know If I spent $5 on 10 random manuals, I know I'd end up with 10 manuals I don't want. Better to let people pick and choose.

One of the local CD/Exchange stores used to have a box of manuals - they'd accept manuals that didn't have a game with them in trade and they would usually be priced around 25 cents to a buck each. The only thing that sucked was they'd put price stickers on the front cover.

However, the manual box disappeared sometime in 2005.

    Wednesday.

PS1 Final Fantasy Tactics (complete) - Original black label version, haven't had this one traded in in awhile.

PS1 Castlevania Symphony of the Night (complete) - Original black label version.

PS1 Final Fantasy VII (complete) - Original black label version. As I've said before, I'd open a Final Fantasy 7 Shoppe if I could. Fortunately we've been getting this one in a lot lately.

Dreamcast Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (complete) - Maybe not as pricey as the PS2 version or even the XBox version but arguably better than both.

PS1 Intelligent Qube - Almost complete, missing the manual.

PS2 Rez (complete) - US version.

PS1 Point Blank (complete) - Not the bundle with the gun, just the complete CD case game.

Dreamcast Street Fighter 3 Double Impact (loose) - Just the loose disc, but still worth mentioning as we don't see it very often.

PS2 Hudson Selection Bonk (import, complete) - NO idea what this is nor did I have any knowledge that it even existed until today, apparently some kind of PS2 compilation of Bonk (from the TurboGrafx-16) games ported to the PS2.

    Another busy day of trade-ins.

SNES Game Lot (loose) - Includes Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire, Secret of Evermore, Castlevania IV, and Killer Instinct.

PS1 Game Lot (complete) - For the first time in a long time, there's just no room in our display case for the "premium" PS1 games. Some creativity will be needed here! Today we got in Metal Gear Solid (black label), RPG Maker, Castlevania Symphony of the Night (greatest hits), Arc the Lad (all of the discs but no outer box, I think we have one of these in our orphans collection downstairs), Threads of Fate, Vagrant Story, Legend of Legaia, Saga Frontier 2, Breath of Fire IV, Wild Arms 2 and more.

    Dreamcast Game Lot
(complete) - Includes Power Stone, Marvel vs. Capcom, Soul Calibur, Shenmue and more.

    PS2 Atelier Iris 3 (complete)

PS2 Amplitude (complete) - We like this game, haven't had it in stock in awhile.

PS2 Soul Nomad (complete) - First time traded in on this "late model" RPG.

XBox Star Wars Jedi Outcast (complete)

Sega Master System Wonder Boy in Monster Land (complete)

    PS3 40GB System
(loose) - Complete but missing the box and manuals. We haven't had a whole lot of PS3 systems traded in over the last month or so.

Good sales day - light trade-in day.

JVC X'Eye (loose) - Complete system but no box or manual. Great condition. Bet this gets snapped up this weekend!

    Ugh.

Not that you haven't heard this before... But I wish I could simply hop in the car, and pay regular visits to your location.

Game-X-Change (especially in the abundance we've got), are very nice... But just not the same as a singular location, TOTALLY dedicated to what they do.

Just another Sunday in August. Steady, busy day. The store didn't spend a lot today (roughly $300, which is considered a "light" trade-in day) but got some pretty good stuff overall.

    Dreamcast Capcom vs. SNK
    (complete)
    Dreamcast Resident Evil 2 (complete)

PS1 Parasite Eve (complete) - This is one of those games that I get asked about once a week or so. From my store's customer base, it has surpassed Silent Hill on the "want-o-meter".

    GameCube Zelda Collector's Edition (loose)

Dreamcast System, PAL (complete) - Complete in box Euro system. The customer took the NTSC converter with them, so this has limited usefulness, still pretty cool just to see an out-of-country system complete like this.

Dreamcast Headhunter (complete) - A PAL game traded in with a big pile of others along with the system above, this was the only Euro exclusive in the lot.

    NES Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (loose)

    SNES X-Men Mutant Apocalypse (complete)

Can't you use a Utopia Boot Disc to play import Dreamcast games?

Yes, but that's not very easy to find.. here at least.

I Just use Codebreaker. And we all know Gameshark CDX also works great. I dislike it though because it needs it's "memory card unit" to be used at all.

    Stupid Gameshark..

The games are easy enough to get working - the problem is the system. It just won't fit into a US electrical socket. Needs a converter, they're not cheap.

Yeah but aren't the converters that are usually in the luggage department usually for low power items like hair dryers, electric razors, that sort of thing. Don't think those ones will handle the power a Dreamcast would put out. I know of step-up/step-down converters which should handle the power, but those are kinda costly, I want to say around $40 at places like Radio Shack for example.

Find a broken Dreamcast or loose dreamcast that has a working power supply, and swap them out. Should do the trick fine.

And the dreamcast uses little power, so converters can generally be found for cheap.

Ah, memories. Got this back in Christmas 1998 along with Xenogears and Brave Fencer Mushashi. Back then, Square brought a lot more to the table proving it's more than a Final Fantasy machine. It's opposite nowadays, how ironic.
