Lots of good retro stuff traded in yesterday.

Nintendo Tabletop Popeye (loose) - Missing the battery cover but we'll at least get around that by creating a substitute. I had never played the game before, thought it was going to be the arcade game. It's not. More like a weird Popeye vs. Bluto boxing match.

Nintendo Micro "vs. System", Boxing (loose) - In great condition.

NES Lot (loose) - Sixty NES cartridges, of which about half are the "staples" (Super Mario 2 and 3, Castlevania, Zelda, etc). Nothing rare but a timely holiday arrival.

SNES Lot (loose) - About a dozen loose carts, as I started going through these it seemed they were all going to be sports games. Four of them were non-sports and one was Zelda.

You should limit the amount of sports games that can be brought in on 1 trade, hahaha. kidding dude, but it would be funny.

"Uh, Sorry sir. We have a 3 sports game trad in limit"

    hahahaha

A little catch-up, as the past few days have been kinda crazy.

    Monday:
3DO System (loose) - Panasonic FZ-1 system with a bunch of good games including Star Fighter, Road Rash, and Alone in the Dark 1 and 2.

Sega CD System (loose) - The model 1 complete with a Genesis system.

ColecoVision Expansion Module (loose) - The steering wheel, used in Turbo, Dukes of Hazzard, Destructor and a few others.

    Tuesday:
SNES Lot (complete) - One guy with a big box of complete SNES games. Mostly unspectactular but we're always happy with Legend of Zelda, and there was also a Dr. Mario/Tetris and Robotrek in the lot. Nice.

    Wednesday:
    Saturn System (loose)

PS3 Resistance Fall of Man 2 (complete) - First time traded in.

PS3 SOCOM (complete) - The new one, game only, no bluetooth headset.

    Today:
Vectrex System (loose) - I think it's been about six months since we've had one of these traded in. In nice condition, too.

Coleco Gemini System (loose) - This is Coleco's version of the Atari 2600. As far as I know, this was only in the store two times before this, a rare gem.

    ColecoVision WarGames (loose)

Famicom Castlevania 3 (complete) - Complete in box.

Famicom Gradius 2 (complete) - Complete in box.

    Atari 2600 Spike's Peak/Ghost House (loose) - Xonox double-ender, good condition.

Atari 2600 Gravitar (complete) - A complete Gravitar! It's the common one, but still nice to have.

Game & Watch Lot (loose) - Pretty cool. Three games, all in great shape with battery covers and all: Bomb Sweeper, Pinball, and Donkey Kong Circus. I've never seen the latter before, other than at the CGE museum.

PM sent on that Model 1 CD, epic genesis collection would be needing one of those.

Ha ha ha. Hey, back in the day they called me Mr. Movie game, because I always seemed to be drawn to movie and TV show games, no matter how bad they were.

D'OH! I just won an ebay auction last weekend with one of them in it, because I just can't seem to get one that works. With my luck, what I get won't either.

As this project nears its close it seems the trade-ins have been less interesting. Still lots of stuff coming in but very little that hasn't been mentioned before or has any kind of real "wow factor" to this sort of crowd.

    Yesterday was pretty good though.

Game Boy, Game Boy Color, GBA Lot (complete) - Roughly 35 boxed complete games from all of the various Game Boy eras. Lots of really good titles including Castlevania Circle, Castlevania Harmony, Mr. Driller 2, Lost Vikings, and Double Dragon

    Saturn Golden Axe (complete)

    Saturn Sega Ages (complete)

NES Final Fantasy (boxed) - Missing the instructions and the map but I think I have these items 'orphaned' in the basement.

    PS1 Tomba! (complete)

SNES Kirby Dream Land 3 (loose) - First time I've ever seen this game, certainly the first time traded in here. Part of a lot where most of the games were pretty familiar.

PS2 Gradius 3 & 4 (complete) - Not particularly rare but not often traded in and always sells fast.

Gizmondo Lot (complete) - No system, but eight complete games.

N64 Zelda Ocarina of Time (complete)

I hope you keep updating this thread. I love reading the stuff that gets traded in at your store.

It was meant to be a one year project. I have no intention of doing it through 2009, though if something REALLY interesting gets traded in I will post here!

IMO that's a mistake. This thread creates greater interest in the store AND the forums.

Why? Who knows. I guess folks like me are just plain nosy. Or it could be that most of us are a good enough distance from the store where we can't reasonably be there on a daily or weekly basis, but through the magic of this thread, in a way we can be.

It also creates some interesting conversation about collecting/gaming occasionally.

    Today.

PS3 LittleBigPlanet (new) - Y'know, I still haven't had a chance to play this game because it hasn't been traded in yet. So when someone trades one in, I expect it to at least be opened. As it turns out, this guy is a top salesman at a major gaming chain and wins a lot of stuff that he already has. This was one of those times, and he had a few others:

    Rock Band 2 (new)

Nintendo DS Lite System (new) - Blue.

    Other stuff:

Nintendo DS Cyberia (complete) - First time I've seen this one. Apparently a Gamestop exclusive?

PSP Spider-man Web of Shadows (complete) - Since there haven't been a lot of interesting PSP trade-ins in general, here you go, the most intersting in over a week.

    QFE.

Joe, your year long project is something that many of us that are not in Jersey would love to see you continue.

You didn't think we would let you stop, did you?

Count me as another who would like to see this thread continue into 2009. This is one of the threads I really look forward to seeing have updates. Plus, it reminds me that I really should visit the store more often. It's not like I live that far away...

I too will miss this thread but I can understand why you'd want to stop.

I'd love to see weekly updates even if you won't be doing daily ones anymore.
