    Default "For Display Only" Question

I recently got a couple games (well boxes to be true), that say "For Display Only". Were these just empty display case boxes or did they have games. The games in question are Project Gotham Racing (PH) and PSO Episode 1 and 2 for the Xbox.
    Thanks

These are likely just mockup case art used for display so the actual games don't get stolen. Then a place like gamestop gets a disc only copy on a trade-in, so they pop it in the display box and sell it that way. I have a Mario Party 5 (or 6?) that is like this. It was originally in a plain DVD-type case, and I opted to keep it over a regular cover and swapped it into a GCN case. I don't think there is any special value to them, though. Maybe someday, but I certainly wouldn't speculate on it.

They are often placed out to help incite preorders and get the notice out to gamers that this game is on the way. GameStop/EB's have them out en-masse.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.
