The cartridges I own are clean and I believe that Intellivision is also pretty clean. Is it because it's overheating? I can't think of anything else to be honest.

Overheating. Very common with the first gen of Intys.
Have you cleaned the inside of the unit? You'd be suprised what's in there.

Sorry I got back a bit late. I think it was the game Burgertime cuz when I put in Atlantis (which I brought new), the Intellivision didn't freeze up. Also, idk if I want to open my Intellivision up to clean the insides beside I'll just whind up messing it up. LoL
I have a feeling that Atlantis is made with better quality than most other games. I was testing a bunch recently and it was the only one that worked perfectly every time. All the others took a little bit of effort to get them to work even after cleaning. I don't know much about the freezing though. The only time I experienced that was when I bumped the system.
