Default Kid Kool (NES) ! Awesome game!

So, yeah. It's an awesome game. But I never hear much about it. Why is that? Do people hate it? Or just think of it as a typical Mario clone. Which it really isn't. It's a lot of fun when you get used to the whole running physics.

It's very similar to Psycho Fox for Master System, and Decap Attack. I don't really care for Decap Attack, though.

Everyone out there who has played Kid Kool, .. What do you think of it?! I really have no idea what the general opinion is on this game.

I think it's pretty mediocre. The Sonic style momentum is too stiff, the paused up & down screen scrolling is irritating, the invisible money signs that contribute to a lot of cheap deaths suck. It all makes for a below average platformer. Thankfully, Vic Tokai revised the game engine in Psycho Fox, which I personally found enjoyable. It was then revised yet again for Decap Attack, which is my personal favorite of the three games.

I really enjoyed Kid Kool, I accually rented it from a local movie store back when I was a kid and they closed down a few days later, leaving me with it =P. While I never played Psycho Fox before, I have played Decap Attack, which is a much better game. I like them both very much though for what they are worth.

This game is boring to me. I agree that the physics are off and difficult to work with. It's not really a Mario clone, as that's giving Kid Kool more credit than it deserves. The little fluffy guy is cool though.
Negative, negative! We have a Wildcat destabilization of the ship's fusion core!

Decap Attack blows this out of the water. However, it's not Athena, but it's not Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout either. Xexyz said it best:

I paid $2.50 for my copy, and I'd say it's just about worth that.

I could never stand the style of gameplay that all three titles use; however, I'm now curious as to what one came first: Psycho Fox or Kid Kool?

Also: who here has played the game that Decap Attack was created from (a la SMB 2 US), Magical Hat Flying Turban Adventure? If I really had to pick between versions, I'd take Magical Hat.

There was a Formation Z - was a Famicom game, never had a US release.
