If it's the whole series, I'd say Mario. But for just one game (and it's ports) I'd say Pac-man.

Zelda, Mario, Pac-Man and Sonic- all those series are probably about even in terms of the series with the most memorabilia.

Pac-Man has to be the #1 but Mario would come very close.

for absolute sheer mass I'd have to say pokemon, they have at least 1-2 figures for every pokemon out there as well as thousands apoun thousands of cards plushies books magazines other toys, easily beats out the pacman or mario stuff probably 2-1 easily.

Agreed. The video game world didn't know what mass marketing was before Pokemon came along. In the realm of classic gaming, I think Pac-Man edges out Mario, but not by much.

Forgot about Pokemon, which would definitely come out on top. Then the others mentioned (if you had to pick an order, pokemon, pac-man, mario, sonic then zelda (zelda has more stuff than people realize, they made zelda absolutely everything in the 90's).

I think most of the big names have been added but I'm going to throw Final Fantasy out there, in general the entire series has quite a bit of merchandise, from figures, wallscrolls, clothing, ect ect.

    -Pac-Man
    -Dragon's Lair
    -Donkey Kong/Mario/Zelda
    -Sonic the Hedgehog
    -Final Fantasy 7

In all honesty, I don't remember any Halo having alot of merchandising - the only Halo merchandising I really know of is Mt. Dew and their Game Fuel. Marketing is a different story, though.... It got plenty of that.

I'd have to agree with the previous post and say Pokemon. Then, it would probably be Mario, Sonic and maybe Pac-Man.

I think if we're talking a single game, and not a whole franchise, it's either one of the Pokemon games, or Final Fantasy 7. You guys, if you haven't looked, may not realized just how much stuff they make for FF7. They're STILL making stuff for FF7. Figurines and plushies and keychains and music and art books and... well, everything.

I'd certainly have to agree that Pokémon is the most merchandised video game franchise out there (and it's only been 10 years). Pac-Man ranks probably number one for a single game.
