Default What is this thing? (nyko PS1/PS2?? adapter)

Came across this thing. No idea what it is, though. They appear to be male connectors on each end. Where it says Nyko, there is a switch that can be set to 1-4.

    Thanks in advance.

At first glance in appears to be some sort of controller splitter. But I really do not know for certain. My split. is all black by Nyko and does not have a little switch.

Hmm... well, can't be a splitter, because the two connectors in the picture are the only two; one on each end of the cord.

I'm rather surprised no one seems to know about this.

Just a WAG here, but could it be a wireless controller receiver with a controller port pass-thru? The 1 - 4 would make sense since most wireless controllers come with multiple channels.

    Edit:

Just checked the Nyko website and came up with the answer. It is the receiver for their dual wireless controllers for the PS2. It comes with 2 controllers and each end of the cable plugs into one of the controller ports.

Thank you so much. That makes sense. I was pretty baffled by the 2 male connectors.
