Well, doesn't it say right on the box that it contains 2 games...sure they aren't the ones pictured but I think it counts anyway.

An update to my previous post.

I went back to the same Goodwill store today and grabbed that copy of Skate or Die. It was still there for a buck fifty-nine. So were the same 2600 games, which I passed up for a second time. Also passed up some overpriced PS1 garbage.

Since I was in the neighborhood, I stopped into the Salvation Army nearby. Not a game in sight.

So apparently my findings hold true(well, confirmed now by another person), K-Mart and Sears/Sears Essentials Stores don't have a universal markdown. I picked up Elite Beat Agents not too long ago at a Sears store, it was priced at 14 or something I believe, and It rang up at 7.48 or some odd total like that.

Hopefully I can get some good finds this month.

So far I've traded for a Spectrobes Collectors Edition, but thats about it i believe.

    US $235,00 + US $15 shipping + US $8 insurance
    US $258 together.

I think it was cheap for this Rare Demo. The NTSC Wii cost me later maybe the same price.

Its a shame, the thrift store won't sell me games anymore. They put all their games on ebay now. Its getting to the point where I have to buy on ebay or on here. There aren't any stores in AL anymore.....

Well I wrote out a nice long detailed description of my finds but then I closed the tab and lost it. So here's the short version...

Decent day at the flea market finally with some nice weather. I picked up a PSOne system with power and AV along with a blue DualShock 2 analog controller for $15.00. Of course the controller was DOA (this makes the 5th one I've gone through from this flea market) and I was unable to revive it. The system wouldn't boot games initially but reseating the drive assembly did the trick, it's working perfectly now. I usually sell these for $25.00 but this one will be sold for $20.00 as part of a package with some other items locally...

A gentleman had a few game items he offered to me for $5.00 so I took the two items that were in decent shape, a bare Genesis 2 console and a pair of VCS paddles. One of the paddles has a cracked knob and part of the housing appears to have melted at one point and become slightly deformed. They worked fine after the standard refurbishment and will go with a VCS / 2600 bundle I'm putting together right now with an AV modded Atari 2600. The Genesis 2 will more than likely be USA/JPN modded and have standard RCA jacks installed - my most popular mod. The guy also said that he had a bunch of games as well as a Super Nintendo that someone had come and bought earlier that day but he didn't want the Genesis. I assumed it was the fellow collector I bought my Pole Position arcade cabinet from, more on that in a bit...

There was a lady selling off the last of her inventory from the day for 50 cents. She didn't have all that much, some interesting books but I only grabbed one since my copy seems to have gone missing. In a large pile of junk toys at another vendor I came across a vtech V.Smile Pocket game system. I heard someone announcing that everything was $1.00 until I realized that it was the next space over. I watched the lady running the space give prices for a few moments, all of which seemed pretty cheap. Holding the system up from a distance the seller signaled $1.00 to me, I made sure that the screen was facing away from her as I paid.

The batteries were dead (the system was trying to flicker on when I bought it) so I replaced them as well as tested the unit with external power. Both methods caused the system to fire right up. I don't have any cartridges but the boot squence allowed me to test the picture and sound, both of which are perfect. I also tested the TV output mode with a standard minijack to RCA cable that I use with my camcorder - again it worked perfectly. These are going for $40.00 on eBay right now in the same condition so I'll be selling it soon. If someone here wants it just let me know, of course I'll sell for less with a fair deal. The system is technically exactly the same as the large V.Smile TV console system and uses the same cartridges. I may try to obtain a cartridge to fully test the system but I'll probably sell it as it is since I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. What's kinda cool about it is there is a switch on the back that swaps the control pad and enter button to opposite sides. They rotate and on the back side is the mirror of the control on the front.

Then of course are the NES games. My favorite dealers (the two Chinese gentlemen that deal in retro and GB imports) were back (haven't been there for two months) although on the way to them I ran into the fellow collector I mentioned earlier. He asked me if I had been over to my favorite dealers yet as it seemed someone cleaned them out earlier this morning of some high value / popular / rare NES games they had just brought out today. It seems that we both got beat to the punch, since he didn't have the games that the other seller (with the Genesis 2) said he sold earlier. I guess there's another classic games buyer that stole both our big finds of the day. We both joked that they'll be for sale at one of the other regular's lots next week.

Once I did get to their spot I noticed the large gaps in the three cases of NES games they brought out that week (usually they only have two). In additon he had two more stacks of NES games that looked picked over. I started to go through his assortment, as there was still plenty of good stuff left, and ended up with a stack of about twenty games... woah, I need to budget myself right now. I was going to do a trade with that PSOne system, he offered 5 games ($10.00) but I declined since the other deal I had in mind locally will come out better - especially since I paid $15.00 for the system. So I put back a bunch of the games and stuck with a few that I had been looking for and the ones in the best condition, all for personal collection as most of the games from them are. Ended up with 6 games from him at $2.00 each. Track & Field and RBI Baseball (unlicensed) were $1.00 each from two other separate vendors.

    NES - Balloon Fight
    NES - The Bard's Tale (R5)
NES - Ferrari Grand Prix Challenge (R5)
    NES - Ice Climber
    NES - Kick Master (R4)
    NES - R.B.I. Baseball (unlicensed)
    NES - Spy vs. Spy
    NES - Track & Field

By the way, the package that I sold locally with the PSOne system went for $30.00 and included...
    PSOne system
    PSOne power adapter
    PS family AV cable
    PS1 DualShock analog controller
PS1 WipeoutXL (complete) - the one in my Buying and Selling thread
    NES RC Pro-Am
NES Track & Field - the one pictured above
...basically it was expanding a bundle to get rid of some loose items that I wanted gone. Everyone wins, good deal, good items.
