as always amazing. what does he do with all these projects? Sells them? keeps them?
Most of the time, his projects are request he got. If not, they are sold almost instantly.
That is just plain amazing. I have never seen his work before today. Brillant is all i can say. Makes me want to try it.....ya right..
Ben does great work. I hope to someday be able to commission some work with him
I have a Ben Heckendorn modded "Atari Flashback 2" with a front loading 2600 cartridge port.
It looks great, is super solid construction, and works like a charm (other than the minor software compatibility issues resident in the Flashback 2's architechture, but there was nothign he could do about that).
He's also a really nice guy (and humble considering the exposure he has) to deal with in working out timetables/costs on the work he does.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
I had one of his 2600 handhelds. The flip open one that looked like a DS.
I bought it second hand and when it got broken in shipping I sent it to Ben and he fixed it and more at no charge and shipped it back at his expense.
A very nice guy, and his work was amazing
has he ever made a Dreamcast hand-held/laptop??? would buy that in a second!
I've seen Ben's first 360 laptop contraption and I wanted to have it. The boy makes some good shit. He could make a ton of money if he had enough time and money to make more of these on a grander scale.
ALL HAIL THE 1 2 P

To be this good takes AGES
To be this great takes SEGA!!
I remember him saying after the first 360 laptop that he would answer requests to do another 360 laptop with something like $10,000 estimates. This was because of how long and difficult the process was. Makes me wonder who had enough bank to contract him for that one.
Maybe someday I will track down a Ben Heck original, but that's some heavy disposable income that I just don't have at the moment.
