    Default High Score Page Contest!!!

Okay. This is a simple contest to generate some excitement about the high score page. Whoever enters the 297th, 298th, 299th and 300th game will get a choice of a free videogame-related item. I'll pay for all shipping costs as well. A note: there are only 69 scores before #300. Oh, and I will post the winners in this thread when #300 is reached!

    300 gets first pick
    301 gets next pick
302 gets next pick after that
    303 gets last pick

    Everybody get playing!

I LIKE your idea for a highscore page, but not your methodology. If I played Berzerk on game#1 with easy difficulty, I could go for hours! Ditto Space Invaders, Defender, etc. It would be better if you picked the hardest or second hardest game... give us gamers a challenge! :-)

Also, I don't think you should leave out emulators. My 2600 died, so now all I have is a 7800... which by your rules is illegal. I'm left out. :-(

And of course there are all those younger gamers who weren't even born when Atari was sold. I'm sure they'd like to participate using their PCs.

    Bottom-line:
    (1) Chosen Games are too easy/boring.
    (2) Rules exclude people from the fun.

About the difficulty thing, could it be allowed to have different entries for different difficulty levels?

@Theaveng: As long as you're playing it on game hardware it's fine (Atari 2600 games on Coleco Expansion, Intv system changer, or 5200 expansion or 7800)

@Atariguy, sorry, but it was decided by DP & I long ago that it was for only 1 difficulty setting.

I was just asked what would happen if someone got the 300th and 301st score or something.

You'll get the highest prize for your entries. Then the next person would get the next entry and so on.

Please explain why you decided to use only hardware-based scores? I'm sure a Colecovision adapter doesn't play the same as an original 2600.

Also, I still think the chosen games (#1-B) is too easy. At least give us a challenge so we don't get bored.

    Default Shady Score

I feel the need to cease lurking and bring to your attention some shady behaviour on the 2600 high score table.

I dont intend to upset anyone but in the interest of integrity id request proof of the 199,500 Pitfall 2 score that is claimed.
