Default Nomad: To sell or not to sell?

I've had a Nomad for over 6 years now and I haven't really played it in a long time. The fact that I recently acquired an X'Eye doesn't help matters, and now I'm really considering selling my Nomad. Should I go ahead and sell it, or should I hold onto it?

Not to sell. Down the road you'll regret forsaking the utility of portable Genny goodness.

I wouldn't. Whenever I get rid of any of my games whether trading or selling, I feel like I lost a piece of me.

The longer you wait. The higher the prices go.

Default What's the going rate on them now?

I was all ready to sell my Nomad on ebay say a week ago, took pictures and went through the whole listing-then when it came to click submit,I changed my mind.

Though I don't play it much,it's cool to have ...
If I sell it.....I'll wind up regretting it..

Don't sell it if you get the feeling that you'll regret it.

Do not sell. I bought one back in the day and ended up selling it a few years later. ALWAYS regretted it.

A guy I know had a gently used one and sold it to me for $50 and I immediately jumped on it.

So yeah. Do not sell. You'll regret it.

I have the same opinion as the others here... If it were me, I'd keep it. I have one and never play it... but it's just such a cool system that the thought of selling it never crossed my mind.

Now, if you were offered big bucks for it, you could just sell it and re-acquire it later if you're strapped for cash now.

Just ask yourself if you're going to miss it when it's gone... That should answer your question.

    My Nomad seems kinda redundant.

It's too big to use as a portable when I'm out, and its blurry little screen can't compete with my Genesis when I'm at home.

    I say sell it.

    Sell it to me.
From a collectors point of view I would keep it, from the view of it taking up space and not using it, sell it.
Now it is the beginning of
    a fantastic story! Let us
    make a Journey to
    the cave of Monters!
    Good luck!

The Nomad is a pretty sweet system if you're still a youngin. Back when my brother was in High School, him and a friend used to play two player Streets of Rage.

For the average adult, the Nomad doesn't really do much from a functionality standpoint.

I don't know what the market is for them right now. I tried listing mine right here for under $50 shipped awhile back, a working one in decent condition (minus a battery pack), and it just sat there. I even had a small bundle of games and an AC adapter ready to go with it.

I've seen a few others hit the Buy/Sell forums in the past couple of months, too, not sure if they sold or not. The last two I saw were priced quite a bit higher than mine, albeit with the box/battery pack or in a little bit better shape (which justifies a higher price). But you get the idea.

A lot of the games in my Genesis library (I primarily play sports stuff) don't play very good on the Nomad but I'm not about to sell it for $25-30 either. So I might as well keep it around.

I love playing the first Mortal Kombat on it. That's for sure.

When I go on a trip and don't have lots of luggage space, the Nomad does pretty nicely.

    Don't sell it.

The Nomad is just uncommon enough so that when you want it back in two years you'll have a tough time finding one (in good shape for a good price).

Keep it. You'll thank us down the road.

Now mind you, I never had Genesis growing up and only played it a few times throughout the years. I acquired my first genesis last year from a member on here (which I still have), and later got a Nomad from a coworker that I've only played once or twice. It sits on my game shelf, but for some reason I don't want to get rid of it.

I've never been a Sega fan myself, and the Nomad is the only handheld system I own (because I don't like the idea of handheld gaming)... but it is kind of a cool thing to own... and I'd only sell it if I needed the money bad. So keep it for now. Of course I may feel different if I've owned it for as long as you, and haven't gotten much use out of it.

Unfortuately I've decided to go ahead and sell it. Oh well, if I wanted a portable Genesis again I'd consider getting a GP2x.

I would have held onto the Nomad and bought a GP2x. It's just an interesting handheld to own, put it into a case and keep it stored if you really don't plan on using it for now. Plus if you own one then if you find a second unit later you can sell the lesser of the two or keep both. But yes, the GP2x looks nice however, I'll stick with all of the other handhelds and what they offer.
