    Default Monitor problems

One of the monitors for my 6 player x-men is not working. When I plug it in it just makes a high pitched noise and has no picture. Does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas or know what could be the problem?

First place to start is by having an idea what you're looking at. Monitors can be very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. You've probably seen that posted a million times, but ask any of us that work on (and have been lit up by) monitors, and we can tell you all about it.

That being said, do you have any idea of what kind of monitor you're working with? If you don't, post some pics of the circuit board attached to the back of the picture tube. That will help with ID'ing what kind of monitor you have.

If you have a high pitched whining sound, it sounds like you ARE getting high voltage to the tube, so it could be a disconnected video signal, or could be that you have some failed components on the board.

Start with that, and if you could give us some info on what kind of monitor you're dealing with, there are some great monitor people here that should be able to help you out. (I wish I could say I was one of them, but there are a few here who are far more knowledgable than I.) Hope this helps you some.

Do you know anything about monitors and how they work? If not, probably your best bet is to try and find someone local to your area that can help you fix it. I'm not sure who is close to you on this site.

If you do know anything about monitors, then there are several here who may be able to help you get it up and running. Just let me know where you stand, and we'll take it from there, ok?
