    Default Cleaning.

I was at the local Pawn Shop, I bought Little Nemo for NES and it works great. Worked on the first time.

I also bought Banjo Kazooie and the pins are really dirty and so is the cartridge, I was wondering how I could safely clean the pins, And any advice on taking of the marker, Someone decided to put the name red all over it...

I bought them both for $4 each, So I paid $8 which isn't bad.

I've found non-acetone nail polish remover to be very effective in taking off most permanent markers. Be careful not to use nail polish remover with acetone as it WILL damage the plastic casing of an N64 cartridge (found that out the hard way on my DK64).

I said the pins are dirty, And I don't know what to clean them with. I used Alcholol and it worked for a little bit and stopped.

I recommend you re-read this quote and go have a look. Use the search feature, maybe. Few topics have been beat to death in the Tech and Resto forum as much as this one.

I'm feeling charitable, so I'll get you started. You first really need to open the carts up to get at the contacts. Then some people like to go at them with an eraser. I've lately been using a metal polish. Forgot what it is called, but it was sold next to the Brasso, but this stuff is *much* higher quality. Brasso may work just as well for all I know. Since I've been doing this with games, many of the systems I thought were unsalvageable blinkers work first try every time, or nearly so.

Yeah, I didn't believe it when I saw people write that, either.

What do you mean titling a thread "cleaning."? Cleaning what? A house? A car? A dog? An Xbox? A CD? Be just a little more descriptive with your titles and more people may reply to them. And as has been said before, if you used the search feature you would come up with numerous threads about this issue.

I love irony. He called on you for not being specific, when your remark was calling on him for not being specific, and he didn't even realize it. Oh my sweet raptor Jesus, that is beautiful.

    Yeah, Go figure.

Anyway, I got it working. And the marker came off. Sweet deal for just $4. I'm thinking about buying alot more NES/64 titles there. It's alot cheaper then Ebay.
