Default Does Game Genie work on NES Yobo Remake?

Ok, here's the deal. I can't seem to get my game genie to work with my NES Yobo remake system. I can get the game genie to turn on with the code screen but I can't get that screen to come up when I have a cartridge inserted in it. And I tried this with two different game genie's. The games I tested work by themselves and so do the game genie's(I tested 2) but when ever I try to run them together they don't register. So my question is: will a game genie work with a Yobo Nes or do I need to get an old school Nes system to run it properly? And if I do need an old school Nes, are there any other alternativs to use with my Yobo system?

I've seen reports that the Game Genie works on the Yobo Neo Fami units ... sounds like the NES cart input portion of the genie MIGHT be dirty. Perhaps try cleaning the pins on it and give it another go.

I've been testing 2 game genie's and neither worked with a game inserted. But I'll clean them out tomorrow before testing them again.

    Hmm ...

could be false reports of compatibility ... or a revised/varied chipset on certain Yobo units.

MY GGs do that on the real NES. Clean the hell out of all contacts. A toothbrush and rubbing alcohol gets in the deep parts nicely.

Let me make sure I'm getting this right: by contacts do you mean the part of the game genie that goes into the NES or the part that connects to the game cartridge? I cleaned the part that goes into the NES with rubbing alcohol.

It sounds like your game genies are having trouble reading the NES cartridge pins, so clean the "IN" portion of the Genie.

Ok. So is there a special way to do that or just use the normal q-tip and alcohol method?

Hmm ... I'd keep q-tips away from a pin-set ... I don't personally advise q-tips at all when it comes to cartridge cleaning, as certain types tend to shred and leave bits behind and around stuff.

I'd say, since the Game Genie pins are nice and exposed, that a clean, long-bristled toothbrush and either some alcohol or, if you have any - some non-conductive, non-stripping metal polish should get those pins nice and clean with a bit of scrubbing.

I finally got a third game genie for my NES and this one works with cartridges inserted in it. So I guess some genie's are just more tempemental than others, because I still can't get the first two to work with a cartridge in them.
