Another ebay buyer problem

So, the buyer of my auction here:

not only took almost a week to pay for the item after the auction ended, but had the nerve to open a dispute with Paypal one week later! This person lives in the UK so obviously they haven't gotten the game - I only shipped it out a few days ago! The stupid Paypal system leaves me no recourse here - it's tracking number or nothing. I don't have a tracking # because I never use tracking when shipping small items like this overseas. So, I ask everyone here - what would you do in my situation? Take a look at this person's feedback - she obviously has major issues.

Keep your receipt. Your customs form number will actually track your item all the way to the UK. Once it's there it can no longer be tracked but atleast thats proof that you sent it to the right place/country.

This is a tough one. Call paypal and explain that it isnt possible that the item arrived so this is evidently a bad buyer. Ask for help.

Yea you have to use EMS or another form of shipping like UPS to get a tracking #.

Unfortunately you will probably lose this one. Paypal will want a tracking # or they give the money back.

Want to be tricky ? Ship them a blank case with UPS with tracking today and then send Paypal the tracking #. Since you have sent the item, Paypal will side with you when you send them the new tracking #. And since you really did send the item it's not really cheating

Ill be honest, Delivery Confirmation/Tracking should ALWAYS be a must. Regardless of whether they pay for it or no. In the end it only protects you. Insurance too. As of late, I only ship with both... helps protect against A-Holes.

In this case, you dont get much of a leg to stand on because you cant actually PROVE that you shipped it. At least that's how paypal, ebay, and the buyer sees it. It sucks, but its the nature of the beast.

Yes, as a buyer i am ALWAYS for tracking. Actually ALL packages sent from post offices can be tracked via reciept number. However only EMS packages can be tracked after leaving the country.
I've recently dealt with one seller. I've paid 40$ for EMS shipping and he didn't even care a shit to provide me a tracking number. I've asked him several times. I got like "If you won't get it soon then i'll try to search for it".. Why sellers are so careless????

Sadly, this is yet another thread that shows why I rarely ship outside of the U.S. unless the buyer pays with International Money Order only and will also foot the extra expense for International Tracking.

International shipping via USPS Priority or EMS is usually $1 - $2 or in the case of EMS is included. Shipping internationally is a simple thing when done via the post office and things packaged properly. I dont think twice about shipping internationally.

I contacted Paypal today and they told me to fax over a copy of the receipt that has the customs #. This buyer clearly has problems. Someone else just left them a negative about the same exact thing!

All my ebay sales are INTERNATIONAL and ive never had a problem sending to ANY country. Ive sold stuff to

USA
Canada
Spain
Sweden

Over 100 sales total...100% success until now (knocks on wood)

I've never had problems like this with international bidders either(a few with US bidders though). I've even shipped $100 items overseas that never arrived and were returned a few months later. The buyer just me resend them...no complaining, negative feedbacks, or anything.

But yeah, always get some form or tracking if your at all concerend there might be a problem. Add it to the shipping cost they pay.

Yea and stealing someones game and getting Paypal to refund your money because there is no tracking # is not a crime.

I only ship via Express Mail out of country just for this reason, and I don't even usually like doing that. It's not worth the headaches. 99% of the buyers aren't a problem, but that 1% just makes it not worth it, especially with high dollar items.

This is usually our only alternative when we don't use EMS for over seas shipping. I have yet to have a problem shipping over seas but if I do my customs number on my receipt will be my only resort.

As for the people that said to use EMS for everything shipped over seas, that can be very expensive and pointless unless you are selling all high dollar items. I realize that it's always nice to take the safe road but unless I'm selling items that are $40 and up I just use normal overseas shipping methods. And again, I hadn't had any problems so far so it's all good.

I certainly wasn't implying that it wasn't a crime, but committing another crime to try to "right the wrong" is a trap that will just make it worse.
