seems like they are making another Persona game for the PS2. I figured Baroque would have been the last rpg we'd see on the system.

I tried hard to get into Persona 3 but just couldent do it. Little things like terrible battle music (some love it some hate it) made me not play it as much as I should have. Persona 4 looksvery similar but I will still be buying it to give it a fair shot. I wa really liking the story and characters though, they all had alot of personality to them, and its sim like gameplay was unique, just couldent get into itt hough...

The only question I have is when it comes out, who will be carrying it? Gamecrazy looks to be getting out of PS2 and I wouldnt be surprised if Game Stop and EB were making plans to cut their PS2 stuff down to big name EA sports titles and pre-orders only.

No way. PS2 is still Gamestop's biggest cash cow, so I doubt they'll be eager to stop selling games for it anytime soon.

Are we on the same planet? Simply put, the PS2 is what keeps Gamestop/EB in business. Just because we've "moved on" to the next generation doesn't mean the bulk of gamers have. I don't see this changing in the next year.

Persona 4 has been dated for December and is going to include the soundtrack CD for $40.

it does seem similar to Persona 3, but I love that game so now I'm excited.

I don't think I could resist P4 unless it universally gets slammed by every gamer and critic on the planet.

I too am excited for this game and I am a fan of Persona 3, but I still need to finish it. For some reason I stopped playing P3 FES to start playing the entire Metal Gear Solid series...not that I'm not enjoying that though.

Persona 3 is excellent: in fact, all the PS2 Megaten games are pretty great.

It's going to be a good year for PS2: Yakuza 2 and Persona 4? I think that's actually better than the PS3....

I'm not sure if EB Games at my area take P4 pre-order. It seems like they delay the pre-order close to the release date or not taking any pre-order. One game I got which wasn't on EB pre-order list was Chaos Wars. It wasn't even listed on their store computer. I have to order it from their website. I hope P4 don't get the same treatment.

Well, I'm in the same area as Fuyukaze and when I drop $5 to preorder a PS2 game at Gamestop, more than half the time, they seem surprised. Sometimes I have to even tell them, "No, not for the PS3. It's coming out on the PS2."

Truth be told, sometimes I am fairly certain that we are in fact NOT on the same planet.

I'm just exited that the PS2 still has legs after 8 years. It gives me hope that Sony's 10 year plan for the PS3 may have some validity after all.

I was actually suprised to hear that they'd be releasing this game for the PS2 rather than PS3. After the announcement for disgaea 3 on PS3, I thought Atlus would have started jumping up to that platform. No biggy anyway since the PS3 upscales the PS2 games.

The main characters have been released, well pictures and a little about each at least. The art looks the same as Persona 3 and that is fine by me...now I definately need to go home and beat Persona 3 before this comes out.

Same here. Lots of great RPGs still to come this year, such as Fable 2, Fallout 3, Valkyria Chronicles, The Last Remnant and P4 as well. I know I'll be getting all of them.

I'll probably be getting all of them as well. Do you think P4 will be the last RPG we'll see on the PS2? I hope Atlus starts producing more games for PS3. It won't really bother me if they make more PS2 games though.
