Default Commodore Amiga CD32 SX-1 expansion module

I bought a cd32 from a guy off craigslist locally a few months ago and it came with an sx-1 expansion. It's the little box that plugs into the back and basically turns your cd32 into a amiga 1200.

I havn't ever used the expansion and I don't think I am going to. I know that they are hard to find but I have no idea what it is actually worth. I saw one on ebay once but I didn't see what it ended at and I forgot to add it to my watch list.

I was thinking about selling it with my cd32 and then buying one of those boxed cd32's from china on ebay.

Any idea's on what I should ask for it either by itself or with the cd32?

SX-1 - $150-$300(depending on condition of the unit), usually that's what they're going for.
SX-32 Pro(68030 accelerator board) goes for insane amounts of money, usually hitting $700-$1,000.

So what are the factors in its condition? Do I need to open it and look inside. I will try to take pictures tonight and put them up tomorrow.

I think you are quoting 1994 prices here. The last few SX-1s I have seen for sale on Ebay have gone for under $100. On the Amiga boards, they usually go for less than that. The last couple of SX-32s have gone for $200-$250 on the Amiga boards and usually came with games or other software/peripherals. I haven't seen an SX-32 Pro on Ebay lately, but the ones that went for $500 or more included a CD32, the 50 MHz 030 accelerator, 8 Megs of RAM, a disc drive and software.

I'm agreeing - the SX1 sits at about $75 when I see it going for sale. For $700-1K you can pick up a nice 4000T system expanded to the max so even us fanatics won't pay more than a few hundred
