I just picked one up today for $10. I was thinking one of two things:
Set it up as a makeshift arcade machine hooked up to a modded Xbox
Set it up on it's own TV stand and use it to play all my old game systems on

I love those monitors. They're great for NES.
If it's a 1084, you should box it up and send to me
I've considered making a mini-cab with my 1902. The nice thing about those old monitors is that the old chroma/luma inputs accept s-video signals.
Sort of. I have an adapter cable that was made for some type of audio receiver that has a male DIN connector on one end, and two female RCA jacks on the other. The color code doesn't match what's on the monitor, but it does the trick. Ideally, I'd want one that has male RCA jacks and a female DIN connector, but I'd have to make that myself.

I can't speak technically but in my simple terms......
Very vibrant, bright and detailed, very sharp display. No comparison
to a Television, even though I had a new 21' RCA TV I would use my
little 14' Commodore monitor to view games and movies, it was just
that good, for example if you were to display 2 shades of red that
were only slightly different you could not tell the difference on the TV
but it was obvious on the monitor, I could just notice detail I could not on
a TV, I guess it's like comparing standard def to high def today............

WHERE DID THEIR HAIR GO?
The 1702 is a good one because it has all the great picture quality of a 1084 but also has stereo sound. I have one, but one of the speakers is buzzy and needs to be fixed .

Mine just fried. I mean there was smoke coming out of the back. It was really depressing.
This is probably the last thing I would do with an old Commodore monitor. Not that the quality wouldn't be good, but it's too small for a full-size MAME cabinet. Use a 19/25" TV for that, and give that monitor the true Commodore lovin' it deserves!
Those Midway cabinets had monitors about the same size.
