Default Sega Nomad Screen Replacement Tips?

Just got my hands on a Nomad and would like to replace the screen (not the lcd), what is the best method for me to do so? I've heard numerous ones and I'd like to know if there's one definite & safe way without bucking anything else up...thanks in advance for any info.

Same way you'd take one off of a Gameboy, get something long flat/thin and hard (but not too sharp) and pry up the old lens.

The replacement lens will likely have a peel-off glue/sticker on the back so when you replace it, it will stay.

Be careful not to let any dust or particles on the LCD while the screen is off ... having a can of compressed air and some scotch magic tape handy during the surgery is a good idea.

Here's a link to some replacement Nomad screen lenses.

That's right. Lenses. Or screen cover.

The 'screen' is the visual display, not the parts that protect it. It's just a pet peeve of mine. people ask me for snap guesstimates over the phone all day long, but they make a psychic guess even harder when they aren't clear about what the problem is.

A broken screen is very different from a broken lens when it comes to repairs.

I don't know..."Visual Display" is only one definition of screen. Most of the other definitions of screen have to do with something that protects something else.

But having said that I generally use screen for the actual display and screen cover for the cover as well.

But yeah...the cover is really easy to replace. Just pry the old one off and stick the new one on being carefull of dust as was said before.

True, the terminology is confusing, no matter what.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know where to get a spare Nomad screen besides for buying an extra Nomad? The one I got at Goodwill has a cracked screen that I'd like to replace.
