Default The Retro Game Store Map Project!

I just had an idea for the DPers out there to help other DPers. Create a map of retro gaming stores for people to look at so if you are traveling/moving you know where to go. I started it here: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...7cea768d23&z=9

If you would like to contribute to the cause let me know and I can add you to the list. I just started myself and will cover stores in my neck of the woods, but would love to dot the US with some help.

Outside of the DP store, I only know of one other in my area. It's called Fun N Games in Pompton Lakes, NJ. It's a nice mom & pop operation. Small and very cramped but the family that owns it is friendly.

On a scale of 1-5 I'd rate it a 4. It has a surprising amount of merchandise for a store with so little floor space and the prices are fair. They deal in a lot of vintage toys and cards but the video games seem to be the primary focus.

That's a great idea! Is it going to include thrift stores/pawn shops, flea markets and other stuff like that? Or are you sticking to gaming stores only? Not saying you should do either, just wondering what you're gonna do.

Why not? I don't know how to do different color pins on this yet but shouldn't be too hard. If you want to submit a place I need an address, a phone number, a URL (if they have it), a mini Description, and a rate. It is open for input so plug away!

Ah, great idea but, there's that small handful DP'ers who would rather die than reveal the location of their "secret goldmine".

I can think of two right off the bat.

You may want to check out www.stopgamestop.com as they have a lot of locations under their "alternatives" tab. For example, I submitted a bunch of Virginia stores.

I have a few places in Knoxville and Johnson City Tennessee to add. This is a pretty cool idea.

Yeah, I don't know if I'm one of 'em, but I should be.
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.

I've been to Video Games New York a few times (formerly St. Marks Games). The classic game selection there seems to be pretty good. I traded in several loose N64 games and saw someone trading in a boxed Atari Lynx. Current games are available as well.

For all of those in or near the Delaware area, Play n' Trade store in Middletown. Great place to be, they even allow to playtest all their games (classic and recent). To top it off, when you buy 2 used games, you get the 3rd forFREE!

It's located at the Columbus Flea Market but is one of the permanent indoor shops at the market. They have a a lot of old mainstream stuff like the NES SNES and Master System but they don't have anything older than the NES really. Maybe the occasional Atari. They also have a bunch of new stuff as well. 3/5

    They are open :
Thursday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
Friday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
Saturday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
Sunday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
