Kinda overpriced, but they specialize in classic stuff. I think an older couple run it. It's right next to Wendy's on Colonial... here the info

    S & F Video Games
    2211 E Colonial Dr # D
    Orlando, FL
    (407) 894-1044

Great idea, if you stick with it. Maybe if you get a lot of locations the gods... er mods, could make it a sticky.

I'll be loading some of the best stores in MN very soon. I've actually been planning on trying to do a regional trip where I hit some of the best stores. If anyone from WI, ND, SD, Nebraska, or Iowa has any input I'd love to see them.

Play N Trade - a recent chain that not only offers selection and prices competitive with GameStop, but carries a decent retro selection as well. Last time I was at my local franchise store, they had a big cardboard box of $5 NES games, cool stuff too. Magic Kingdom Adventures, Hydlide, etc.

The Game Trader - These guys used to have a store in my local mall, but it closed after maybe a year. It was great while it lasted, they're the only true retro game shop I've ever found locally.

There's my contribution to the list. Both sites have a Store Locations page.

If you can't get it to work (some people are having this issue if they do not have an account with google) then post it here and I can do it. Otherwise search for the "Retro Game Shops" in google maps, add it to your map section. Then search for an adress, and then click on "Add to My Maps" select the map on the drop down and it will be added, fill in other info before saving it.

Alright, updated with all the sites listed except Play n Trade (I can do that one later once I find an easy to read listing of all the stores). Anyway if someone out there wants to help me out in managing all the addressed and info I could use the help, I have been updating for about 3 hours now and another hand will make things go smoother. Thanks and keep the info coming.

    Here are three more:

    Fair Game
    9121 Kiefer Blvd # A
    Sacramento, CA 95826

    Fair Game
    8214 Fair Oaks Blvd
    Carmichael, CA 95608

(These guys carry a lot of stuff NES and newer. Their consoles tend to be overpriced, but you can find some good deals on games, though those are also sometimes overpriced. They generally have a pretty good selection. The second place carries a much better variety, with Sega CD and Saturn games, plus less mainstream stuff and some Atari games. The rarest games I've found there are Action 52 and Chase the Chuck Wagon, though they usually have a very good Saturn selection. Worth checking out.)

    4 Jays Video Games
    519 W 4th St
    Antioch, CA 94509

(I've only been here once, but they had a pretty dang good selection. They have a lot of consoles, as well, but you might have to call them beforehand so that they can pull what you want out of the warehouse. Prices are much more reasonable than I'd expected, and in general better than Fair Game. They had a pretty good selection of CIB games, including several from Mystique, if you're into that sort of thing. If only the store wasn't an hour away from where I live. They do do mail orders, though, and I just discovered they have an eBay store when I was looking for Sega CDXs.)

    my pants are getting tighter

uhhh since I can't figure how to add points, I'll suggest a good enough eastern nc store I go to. big deals are usually a fluke though (except for when I bought Web of Fire for $8)

All the new stuff has been added, if you want to add a store, please try to add it to the map first. There are a lot of entries and only one me, so the extra hands help everyone out. Thanks.

I added two more. For some reason mine come up as VGNut (no idea why).

Although - I accidentally added my placemarker in red as opposed to blue. Should I change it? If so, how?

edit: note to mods - this thread is great - can we get a sticky?

Ah, what a wonderful resource this will be! Allow me to add my local stores to this fine list.

    Gamers Extreme
    57 S. Broadview, Ste. 104
    Greenbrier, AR 72058
[A new store, less than a week old, so final judgement is withheld for now. Small store, reasonable inventory for its size. Prices are about average on all games, though they are in flux at the moment.]

    Game Point
    2625 S Donaghey Suite 102
    Conway, AR 72032
    www.gamepointgames.com
[Another small store, but with lots of inventory for its size. Prices vary, depending on inventory/rarity. Friendly atmosphere.]

    Game Xchange
    2125 Harkrider Suite 12
    Conway, AR 72032
    [Review to be added later]

    Game Xchange
    3954 Central Ave. Ste F
    Hot Springs, AR 71901
    [Review to be added later]

    Game Biz
    2032 Central Ave
    Hot Springs, AR 71901
[Small store, medium inventory for its size. Good prices, particularly on older games.]

    The Game Room
    3812 Central Ave
    Hot Springs, AR 71913
[Medium-sized store, LOTS of inventory, covers almost every domestically-released system. Reasonable prices.]

^ Added stores to map, if you could get the phone numbers of the store next time makes life a little easier for the searcher. Also when you get the reviews of the stores let me know, thanks.

Also Seconded on the sticky idea.

I tried to add the ones I knew around Western NY:

    Game Craze
    Review
This chain of stores is fairly prominent in the Rochester area, and are great locations to pick up retro and current gen games. The stores generally have tons of Genesis, NES, and SNES games, and they have been known to carry less common items (some 3DO, Virtual Boy, Game.com, and MVS carts, for example). The prices are generally fair, but there are definitely some outliers (some bargains, some overpriced head scratchers). Don't expect much in the way of customer service, and you won't be disappointed.

    Locations
    1521 Mount Hope Ave
    Rochester, NY 14620
    (585) 271-5540

    1751 East Ave
    Rochester, NY 14610
    (585) 442-7970‎

    597 Stone Rd
    Rochester, NY 14616
    (585) 663-4310

    1850 Ridge Rd E
    Rochester, NY 14622
    (585) 266-4610‎

    Video Game Monster
This store is fairly new (about a year old) and I have found it to be a great place to visit. The retro game selection is not particularly strong, but they have plenty from PS1 and up; the prices are excellent. The friendly customer service and atmosphere have made me choose to shop here on more than one occasion. Highly recommended.

    http://www.videogamemonster.com/
    Address:
    7374 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd.
    Fairport, NY 14450
    (585) 223-7550

    Game Players Unlimited
This is a smaller store out in Brockport. It has an excellent selection of well kept retro games. The prices are usually dead on, and you will generally be pleased with their selection.

    45 N Main St
    Brockport, NY 14420
    (585) 637-8370

    Phoenix Arena
This store is located in McKinley Mall. It is fairly large, and it has an impressive collection of retro games and VHS tapes. They sell for a wide variety of systems, and even have some loose boxes and manuals for sale. Strongly recommended.

    http://www.phoenixgame.com/index.html
    1 McKinley Mall Drive
    Blasdell, NY 14219
