first off what model CDi is it?
a remote wont work on the smaller models unless you get one with the IR extention
you might need a corded controller

Someone has been selling Sega Genesis controllers with a CDI adapter on ebay lately. I have almost bought one but they are about $30. You don't have too many good options for a CDI controller though...
I have the Genesis controller adapter, and it works great. Genesis pads/arcade sticks are far better than any of the crappy CD-i controller options. If you're looking to collect CD-i stuff, you'll probably want the corded gamepad. If you just want to play, get the adapter.
The seller's name is Gamegator2000 or similar. I don't think he's been on ebay lately, but you can probably find him on the cdinteractive.co.uk forums.
