modded xbox w/ 500GB Seagate Barracuda hard drive

ok i found this guy on craigslist offering to sell me a broken xbox with a 500GB Seagate Barracuda hard drive for $15. it Has LED backed four flash bank selector on front, indicator for ON/OFF status of modchip, small lcd screen and two USB ports on front. he says somthing just needs to be reset but doesnt know what exactly and he has wasted to much cash on this and just wants it gone. i was wondering if this was acually worth anything or is he just selling me a black box with some wires in it. there are no pictures but this weekend im going to check it out and see if any damage is done to it. since i dont really understand modding or what this hard drive is ill ask you smart people out there.

A parted out xbox is worth more then $15

funny thing is he offered it to me for $65. that sounds more like a price but im cheap and have well only $20 so i offered $15 and he took. suprised me pretty good.

Even if it doesn't working I'd say thats a good deal because broken ones go for more than that on ebay. Actually, most broken systems go for atleast a third of what they would bring in working condition. I never understood this but thats just the way it is.
