Your power button is probably asking itself " What is my motivation?".

So you have to get inside your power buttons head and see what makes it tick.

Then you will know how to fix it.

You can't just threaten it. It goes into hibernation. How would you feel if your whole life was just one poke after the other? You must try to become friends with it first. Leave it an offering of cheese, then see if it comes around.

It's a little PCB with two momentary switches. One of them may be worn out. The easiest solution is to replace the whole PCB. Once could also desolder the momentary, and put a new one in.

It's also possible the momentary is fine, and that the PCB itself has a hairline crack that could be bridged. Sometimes people apply too much force the the front of the unit.
