    Default Sega Saturn help

My Saturn is a Sanyo model. After trying to mod it, the tab that recognises games, (the metal prong) is held in to ensure the disc spins. This got worn out, and now it just displays the Saturn logo, no disc. How do i get this long silver prong to work right again? Its still intact, just loose and wont spin discs(if the top cover is on, then it still wont). I know its not the mod chip because i put it back together and still tried to get it to recognize the disc, to no avail.

You could go underneath the main PCB and bypass (bridge) the door sensor. THis would fool it into thinking the door was always closed.

This fix would cause problems with those rare multi disc games (like Panzer Dragoon Saga), as the Saturn would never know when you opened the door.

You should remove the chip to MAKE SURE that the problem is the door sensor. Otherwise, you could go changing things for the wrong reasons, which is a road you do not want to go down.

That is not true. Multi-Disc games on the Saturn is not like the SNES2, or Dreamcast.

There is no Monster Rancher game on the Saturn that pause in the middle of the game. No matter what you do the game will go back to the startup screen. However I did heard of cart games that do this just not stand alone disc games.

In fact I have been meaning to tape the door button down so that I can play copies on my saturn.

    The only diffrence is..

    1. The Saturn will allways think the door is close no matter what.

    2. To boot into the sound screen you need to have no disc inserted.

About pausing start up screen this is the fault of damaged discs or special loading discs. Soetimes I have to reset a game since the movie will not play and only the sound.
