    Default Famicom Disk System Whoas

So a friend of mine just got an FDS and it works fine . Oh except for one strange thing (not sure if its strange or not actually) the picture is outputted upside down, is this normal if so how do we reverse this as standing on our heads to play famicom is getting old, lol.

    WTF???

That's strange ... but not as strange as when you plug a FDS into a non-compatible NES/Famicom clone system and the title screen reads "Set Dick Card".

haha so i take it thats not normal, well onto question 2 then. How do i fix this, is there any good reason why i shouldnt just flip the tv over to play it. or perhaps some obscure tv signal flipping filter device lol.

Do you have the FDS attached to official Famicom/NES hardware?

If it's a CRT TV, you probably shouldn't flip it over. The flywheel isn't fond of being upside-down

Yeah, the flywheel that keeps the electrons from pooling up in the front of the screen. The flywheel pumps it's electronics into the lymphatic duct. That's what the big red cable is.

You plugged it in upside down.

Easiest non-flipping suggestion I can offer is to play it on a comp with video input and a video card capable of rotating the screen.

that's extremely retarded, is it actually upsidedown? or is it just flipped vertically?
you can flip a crt upsidedown no worries, theres no such thing as a flywheel in a tv, that's part of a car. there is a flyback transformer, but that will work fine whatever way up ypu put it. the only thing to note is that if you turn it after it's switched on your colours will be wrong due to geomagnetism, you have to do it while it's off so it can degauss itself in the right position at power on, may need to be left off a while to let the ptc cool down or else the degauss may not be strong enough.
