Project A-Kon is coming again this year to Dallas Tx. Once again I'll be going. Anyone else planning to attend? Perhaps we can have a DP boardie meet during the con.

Anime, sci-fi, fantasy, and a slowly growing group of gaming. Biggest anime convention in the south central portion of the country.

I went to A-Kon years ago, and didn't care for it. I bought a few DVDs, then went a couple days later to Best Buy and found them all cheaper. Since then I've stopped watching anime since it seems to be all the same badly written crap.

I wouldn't go to buy anime DVDs at an anime con. Think about it, that's were the worst values and most markup are going to be. Most dealers of anime are also into other stuff... Find a table that scratches your itch on the cheap and go nuts.

In the 7 years I've gone, I've only bought anime once. The problem with anime cons is the dealers are all small time and cant afford the huge discounts the big box stores like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and such can offer. That's realy not the reason to go though. The panals, the events, and even the import goods (to a small degree) are some of the reasons I go. Hell, I've not hit the vid rooms in over 4 years.
