That is just amazing. It's great when stuff like this is found.
This is why the finds threads are always my favorites.

Catching up for the past week or so. Spider sense was tingling last Sunday, after Saturday had been a bust. First stop was a garage sale where I saw an Xbox 360 Guitar Hero guitar, so I had to turn around and see if he had anything else. Picked up the N64 with RF adaptor, 2 controllers, and 7 games (Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, South Park, Mario 64, Quarterback Club 98, MLB with Ken Griffey Jr, and Kobe Bryant Courtside) for $5.

Went on a brief Goodwill run after that, and was absolutely floored to find the loose Virtual Boy. For whatever reason the main unit and the eyepiece were in two different aisles. I'm thinking this has to be the mate for my loose VB controller that I posted about, since it came from the same store albeit a few weeks apart. $3.99

This weekend my apartment complex had a yard sale. Horrible turnout but I did pick up Nero 7 Ultra Edition (sealed) and Cakewalk Music Creator 3 (complete) for 50 cents each.

Also, in non-gaming related finds this week, I picked up two Techincs turntables and a Numark mixer (in original boxes) at my local Goodwill for a total of 30 bucks. Not exactly top of the line stuff but looked to be in excellent condition.

Congrats. Someone mentioned find-of-the-year and I agree. Hat's off to you. I'd be curious if the DP vets here could apraise of give an accurate value on this.

Considering the recent Speed Racer movie... maybe the value went down. XP

i would assume that most copies of speed racer are sealed, considering no one probably actually played that game

Why are people finding so many top loading NES systems lately? Wow.

    Yesterday I bought:

Smash by The Offspring - $2, "Complete", Great condition.
The Presidents of the United States of America (Self titled album) - $2, Complete, Great condition
Super Off Road for Sega Genesis - Loose, 25 cents

Edit: I looked up the Exertainment/Speed Racer game in the ORG. A sealed R9? Wow. You've (probably) Beaten me out of my sealed R7.

Thanks everyone for your kind words about my find. I would like to know the actual or suggested worth of the game as well. I am sure that some more knowledgeable might have a thought about it.

I'd imagine that if you can find the right sealed SNES game collector, you can pretty much name your price.

I'd say anywhere between $500 on the LOW end to crazy prices. ($1000+?)

If the Extertainment was THE find in this thread, I have the one furthest from it.

An opened copy House of the Dead 2 and 3 Return (Wii) $19.99 at gamestop. And a really scratched CIB Battalion Wars for GC at Blockbuster for $6.99. I saw the game was scratched, but the cashier had big boobs... and instead of being the guy who returns it immediately after buying the game- I went ahead and kept it after she told me I had 30 days to return it.

My first big Craigslist find. I was wary of it all the way up until I had it out on my apartment floor, but it all looks good. It's funny because he made notes about a few having boxes, but not nearly as many as what it turned out to be. He didn't say any of the n64 games were boxed, and he definitely didn't note that mario rpg and final fantasy 3 were boxed. He had a bunch more Playstation and Nintendo games but I just took what I wanted. He also had Dreamcast, Genesis, Game Gear, and even a 3do but I left all of that stuff.

    SNES
    3 systems
    Aladdin
    Ballz
    Batman Forever
    Battle Cars
    Battletoads / Double Dragon

    Bubsy 2
    Captain America and the Avengers
    Castlevania IV (two copies)
    Chrono Trigger (already have it)
    Cybernator
    Doom
    Donkey Kong Country
    Donkey Kong Country 3
    Earthworm Jim 2
    Fifa 96
Final Fantasy 3 (already have this CIB but this box is better)
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (actually this was listed, but I don't seem to have it)
    George Foreman's KO Boxing
Izzy's Quest for the Olympic Games
    Ken Griffey Jr. MLB
    Killer Instinct
    Kirby's Dream Course
    Krusty's Super Fun House
    Madden NFL 97
    Mario is Missing!
    Mega Man X
    Mortal Kombat 2
    Mortal Kombat 3
    NBA JAM
    NBA Live 96
    Pac-Attack
    Pitfall
    Populous
Robocop Vs. Terminator (the strange black box)
Secret of Mana (already have, but still exciting)
    Seperation Anxiety
    Shaq-Fu

    Street Fighter 2
    Street Fighter 2 Turbo
    Super Empire Strikes Back
    Super Godzilla

    Super Mario World 2 : Yoshi's Island
    Super Metroid
    Super Return of the Jedi
    Super Street Fighter 2
    Super Tennis
    Tetris 2
    Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose!
    Uniracers
    Wheel of Fortune Deluxe Edition
    X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse
Zelda: A Link to the Past (already have two of these CIB)
    Zombies Ate My Neighbors
    ZOOP

    wwf king of the ring
    x men

    Zelda Link to the Past
    Zelda Ocarina of Time
    Banjo Kazooie
    Banjo Tooie
    Final Fantasy VIII
    Donkey Kong Country 3
    Mario RPG hint book

Grand total $360. A lot of money, but I feel pretty good about it. I should be able to make $150 on the systems alone, and then resell the rpg dupes to make the rest.

Wow. Where do you live? That's an insane find, and sealed of all things. Looks like it hung onto a retail store game shelf for a number of years unsold. Congrats! BTW: What Saturn game did you trade in for it?

It's been a busy weekend for me, birthdays and messing with stuff. I ended up only going out this Sunday to find stuff, which usually ends up with not so stellar finds since most everything is closed. I did happen by Best Buy the other day and picked up an iPod Classic 80GB model and Dexter Season 1. After comming home from indoor go kart racing (those carts take off and get up to 40 MPH!) I spent quite a few hours ripping CDs onto iTunes and messing with the whole setup. Mainly trying to adjust to having a media player and how it stores everything through the menus, making things look good.

For today, went by Toys-R-Us and picked up Nanostray 2 finally. It's been $20 for a long time and they had a "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" special on DS titles this week, which I was about to do but decided not to impulse buy at the moment.

While shifting through Planet Music they had "Puretone - Stuck in a Groove" new for $6 so why not, picked it up. Listened to a good chunk on the way home and add it to my iPod play list for tomorrow at work.

Swinging by an independent thrift store tucked away behind an overpass for the first time I picked up a few things. They had a nice inventory and decently priced. If I ever need some old computer hardware they have bins of discounted parts. Picked up a few $1 books:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server (Academic Learning Series new)
"Pascal 2nd Edition" by Nell Dale & Chip Weems
Also they apparently sell records for $0.50 so they were:
    Carly Simon - Anticipation
Five Star - Someone's in Love (single)
    John Cougar Mellencamp - Scarecrow
Philharmonia Promenade Orchestra - Waldteufel Waltzes

Finally, went by a local game store and bought some old anime VHS tapes for a buck each:
    Ninku the Movie (new)
    Armageddon
    Psycho Diver Soul Siren
    Crusher Joe the Movie

The other day I picked up on DVD "Kite Liberator" for a few bucks after trading in my duplicate of Panzer Dragoon Zwei.

I live in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. I kind of wondered how the game got up here and what store it actually came from.

I think the Saturn game was 3x3 eyes. There was no price on the guide, but it was only worth $5 on eBay.
