Default Today's Trade-Ins (Next Level Videogames)

Well following Joe's lead once again, I have to decided to also start a thread about daily trade-ins. Being that we just started year 2 at the store I figure now is a good time to start. Also, for those who visit the store on a semi-regular basis...this will give you a good chance to see the new items we get it before most people.

    Anyway, here we go:

All from a regular trader (seems like he hits the flea market and yards sales all the time...saves me the work)...

Nice NES lot - 2 systems w/ 4 controllers, 2 zappers and about 25 games...notable games include Mario 2 and 3, Dr Mario, Tecmo Super Bowl, Super C and CONTRA FORCE

    Sega Genesis 2 w/ Model 2 CD

    SNES System

Definitely a lot of stuff I can use in there.

It's not that bad of a game as long as you forget that the Contra license is attached to it.

    Decent trade already today:

About 30 mint PS2 games...some notables include Ico, Gradius III & IV and Rez. The rest of them were basically all good PS2 games too so shouldn't have a problem selling them.

Couple of things just now from a regular customer needing some cash:

NES Limited GBA SP System - Always good to have rare SP systems as I have one customer in particular that goes nuts over them...and he buys doubles

Mario Party 8 Wii - Haven't had this one is stock for a while.

Mario Kart Wii w/ Wheel - This makes 2 used copies in the store now, but the game is new and its Mario so I won't complain.

Always good to get more used Wii games in stock

If I traded in a copy of the Orange box for PS3 could I get a copy of it for the 360 as an even exchange? My copy is still factory sealed but I don't have a PS3 to play it on.

    Huge trade day today...

First thing in the morning 2 guys trading in the following:

N64 Classics - Smash Bros, Goldeneye and Pokemon Stadium 2 (also Crash Team Racing for PS1)

traded in for a bunch of junk Xbox 1 titles (mostly sports too).

And just a minute ago some great items from what I'm assuming is a collector getting rid of his stuff...he has been in a few times in the last month with nothing but good games/items, and today was no different:

Sega Nomad System w/ Battery Holder - I had run out of Nomads a little while back and even when we had them, they almost never had the battery holder.

Suikoden II complete - Always good to get one of the best RPGs ever in the store...and it helps that it fetches quite a price. Still, as usual, I will be pricing it lower than eBay.

Suikoden 1 and Vandal Hearts PS1 - Also 2 RPGs that are popular (Suikoden more so)...the only downfall is that they were converted from double disc cases down to single cases. Still both have their manuals and look presentable so it shouldn't be a problem selling them...though it will be cheaper than usual.

Man, I wish I lived near you. I don't think I've been in a single dedicated shop that carries old video games with prices that don't put ebay's already nutso prices to shame! e.g. 25-30 (depending on the store) for SMB3 around here, loose!

    Great trade-ins, btw!

30 bucks for smb loose or complete is a joke. You should take that cart of smb and slap the owner with it.

Nice trade-ins Drexel, do you also vary the amount of trade in based on condition, case, manual?

I priced it at $110 for now...the prices seemed to have gone up again on eBay so I decided to raise it $10 higher than before. I don't think it will have a problem selling.

We don't accept disc based games loose and you obviously get more if you have a cart game boxed. As far as manuals and condition go, it really only affects the really rare games. If I get a PS2 game that sells for $10...it really doesn't matter to me (or most of my customers) if it has a manual. But if it's hard to find (super expensive or not) it will affect the trade value.

Though if a game is beat to shit, then you really won't get much.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

    An early trade today:

Gamecube Collection - 10 mint complete games w/ memory card and Wavebird Controller...notable games include Mario Kart, Mario Strikers, Mario Sunshine, Smash Bros and Metroid Prime 2. Good timing too, since one lady bought most of my good Cube games last week.

A nice lot came in yesterday from a regular customer thinning out his collection:

Nintendo Handheld Extravaganza - 3 boxed GBA SP systems, a boxed Famicom Micro GBA, 1 GBC, 2 GB Pockets, a GBA Flashcart and the crown jewel of the bunch...a Japenese Gameboy Light system

Complete Adventure II Homebrew 5200 - Might have to sell this one here on DP as we don't really sell much 5200 stuff...especially considering we've never sold a console here.

Slim PSP System - No cords but works fine and is in great condition.
