    Default crazy SNES idea....

    So after seeing the portable dreamcast thread i got to thinking. How can i make my snes portable. Then it hit me....

    here's what i have in mind. I have an intec portable screen from my gamecube.

    if i cut the power line, and cut the power line on the snes adapter and crimp the wires together would that work or would i short the system out?

    or objective is

    snes power needs to be split

    1) to the monitor
    2) to the system

    i have the gamecube rechargeable adapter which has the gamecube power plug on the end so that would have to be spliced as well no?

    so given what i have what would be the easiest way to do this?

    Life of Brian made a pretty cool looking Portable SNES. I don't think I've seen him on here in a while though.

    Check out this thread.

    It might have been quicker too but I had to figure out how to make a link to a forum page

    While Digital Press is certainly a collective of users who discuss and appreciate custom portables, if you're looking to see a lot of designs-to-finished-products, I'd suggest taking a look at custom portable guru Benjamin Heckendorn's forums ...

    http://forums.benheck.com/

    and the project section of his main site

    http://benheck.com/all-game-projects

    If you're looking to make a portable SNES, the forums should be full of helpful folks with good experience.

    Ben is also a very nice guy if you contact him directly.

    Ben Hecks book should have you covered

    http://benheck.com/hacking-videogame-consoles

    "it contains complete, step-by-step instructions on how to make portable versions of the following systems:

    * Atari 2600
    * Nintendo 8-bit
    * Super Nintendo 16-bit
    * Playstation 1
    "
