    Default Mario Kart Wii Shortage?

What's the deal? I have mine already, but I need one for a relative. Every retailer is saying "End of July" What gives?

There are plenty here in NYC. I noticed people are charging $71 for it on Amazon.com though, which is ridiculous:

Chicago's been out since June. We're supposed to be getting more end of July as well, with a small trickle of them arriving this week or next.

We got a small shipment of them last week, and were told that future shipments were on tight allocation and we'd not likely see any for a little while. We've seen Two Wii Fit shipments in the same amount of time since the last Mario Kart shipment.

I read somewhere that Nintendo is shipping more product to Europe since the US dollar is so weak. Couldn't tell you if there's any truth to that.

I saw the "Mario Kart Wii locator" at CheapAssGamer and wondered the same thing. I had no idea it was so hard to find. Thank you weak US dollar!

The old Gamecube version had the same problem when it came out. I remember wanting it right after that one came out but I never saw it in stores, not even used. I only saw it finally on store shelfs when the system was dead years after it came out. I predict I won't be seeing the Wii version for a while also.

Seems to be a shortage in Atlanta. I was in a Gamestop when a lady returned a used copy that she bought the day before that turned out to be defective but they didn't have any new ones in stock and could only say "next couple of weeks"

I got mine on launch night. But ny nephew wanted it also, so he asked for it for his birthday, which was about a month ago. No one could find it, so they winded up giving him a gift card to buy it later. After about three weeks, they finally found it! The only time I saw one was right after I bought mine, there was like 2 sitting on the shelf at Target.

They were all over the place when it came out, I could have grabbed hundreds of them...now every place is sold out. I call BS on all these Wii shortages. Wii Fit, Mario Kart, the Wii, the Wii Remotes (at launch), the Wii Nunchuks (again, launch) -- it's all ridiculous. Get it together, Nintendo.

Again, in NYC, I've seen plenty of Mario Kari Wii games. How do I know? Because I'm constantly checking Best Buy and Circuit City for Wii Fit.

(Speaking of Wii Fit, the Best Buy on 6th Ave. and 23rd St. in Manhattan actually had some in stock today. They weren't on display though; I had to ask a salesperson for it.)

They are lean around here. They can be found, but you may have to go to three stores or so before you hit one.

Saw 12 Wii consoles today at Best Buy. Most I've ever seen in person in one place - still in stock.

I was in a Gamestop a couple days ago and some lady asked the salesclerk about Mario Kart. He said "no, we don't expect any until August." Dang..
