    Default Multi-Game JAMMA Boards

Does anybody have any experience in the 48-in-1 or 60-in-1 JAMMA boards that are starting to make their rounds? They seem to come out of China and are clearly specially made motherboards running MAME or some other emulator. I've become very intrigued by the concept.

The few I've seen pictures of seem to offer in addition to the JAMMA edge connector, a VGA port that allows you to hookup an standard monitor. They just look so small and compact, and a much cleaner solution then stuffing an xbox or a PC into my cabinet myself. Anybody have a good and reliable source for them? I'm looking for a horizontal flavor, which seems to be the rarer variety. Most I've seen advertised use a horizontal monitor.

I have a 48-in-1 vertical board. I'm not sure what your question was per se, but fire away. I paid $200 shipped for mine about two years ago. I have a local source that sells them for $125, less if you're buying in bulk.

If you already have a JAMMA cabinet then these are a lot simpler to install than MAME.

I took pictures and documented my install. It took about 60 seconds.

I believe the 60-in-1s can be rigged to use trackballs and spinners as well.

I got mine off these guys (the 48 in 1)

They're a little weird to deal with but I haven't had a problem yet.

I bought a frogger > jamma converter and just tossed it in my frogger cab - worked great!

I like the pile of crap in the background of that guy's room. Makes me feel ... less messy.

I was hoping to make it to the end of that video but then I had a seizure.

From what I saw, it looked like MAME to me. A 48-in-1 board doesn't come up with the "hit OK to run" screen. It also says MAME all over the cabinet so I don't think you would write MAME all over a 48-in-1 cab.

Yup, nothing like importing Japanese ROMs.

I see what you mean Flack, the orbs flash the entire time. That machine is too tacky.

Gotta love surround sound with all 5 speakers in front of you.

Especially for all those classic arcade games with surround sound.

Probably 5.1 -- I can't imagine that much bling without a giant subwoofer in the cab as well.

like the person said before, log into the klov and you will find people selling them. If you pm the user "WU" he sells a 60-in-1 for 120.00 shipped (from U.S. to U.S.)

I picked one up this week and it was easy enough to break out a vga monitor and give it a old test. Now the fun part is figuring out how to wire up the jamma (I'm refitting an older cab-pre jamma.)

I have never used one, but if you can be bothered to rig up a PC for MAME,you should do that, they're much more versatile.
